About
Located along the shores of Choctawhatchee Bay, Shalimar Pointe Golf Club enjoys a scenic, rolling landscape dotted with trees. This often-overlooked golf course has been considered one of the Emerald Coast's best-kept secrets but the word is beginning to get out. The course, due to its challenging but playable nature, has been used for U.S. Open qualifiers and it was host to the Emerald Coast Tour. The layout features immaculately manicured greens that are framed by strategic bunkering and water hazards on a number of holes. The golf course is challenging but fair with five sets of tees to accommodate players of all skill levels. The course is Shalimar Pointe's main attraction but it is complemented by extensive practice facilities including an expansive driving range, putting green and chipping green.

First time playing
I really like the layout,,when everything is growing, I bet it is beautiful, ut for February, it was very good.
I'll be back..again this .month
Decent course for the price
We had a nice connection and played for a great price. Range was on mats with older range limited balls. Golf shop and outdoor staff were VERY FRIENDLY and a highlight of our experience. The time of year didn’t help the conditions which were brown and ‘rough’ fairways and some of the greens had some pretty rough spots. The greens, which we were told were renovated late last year, were VERY firm and fast. They were generally unreceptive to approaches and we needed to land off the front or just on the front to hold them. In hindsight we would have putted more from off the greens. We were paired with a very talkative snow bird member who was anxious to share every detail of each hole which wasn’t optimal but not the courses fault and has likely influenced this review a bit. If you go in with the right expectations you can enjoy this value course and one of the best deals in the area.

Greens were as good as you could want. Speed, slopes, condition, and challenging. Just fun. Bermuda grass is dormant now but fairways were very playable. Price was just right. Staff friendly. I was very satisfied. It met my expectations. I'll be back soon!

Fairways are not that great.
Thought the greens were quick. Don’t get too aggressive on putts.
Appreciate the free range balls.
Will be much nicer when things green up.

Worth the money for Destin in Feb.
I would play this course again. Greens were fast with a lot of undulation. The fairways were just OK...I think this is normal for FL in the winter as the fairways are dormant.
Wrong time of year.
Course looked good but wrong timing. Not green enough. Like to play when it greens up.
Nice course, challenging greens...firm and fast with tough pin placements. Not a lot of straight putts.

Bunkers were in bad shape, for the winter I thought the course was okay. The layout is very good, the par 3 holes are fantastic. The greens are the courses defense as they have multiple breaks and were very quick!
