About
Located along the shores of Choctawhatchee Bay, Shalimar Pointe Golf Club enjoys a scenic, rolling landscape dotted with trees. This often-overlooked golf course has been considered one of the Emerald Coast's best-kept secrets but the word is beginning to get out. The course, due to its challenging but playable nature, has been used for U.S. Open qualifiers and it was host to the Emerald Coast Tour. The layout features immaculately manicured greens that are framed by strategic bunkering and water hazards on a number of holes. The golf course is challenging but fair with five sets of tees to accommodate players of all skill levels. The course is Shalimar Pointe's main attraction but it is complemented by extensive practice facilities including an expansive driving range, putting green and chipping green.

Decent Course
Reading several reviews, I was reluctant to play here at first. Overall, I'm pleased I did. Yes, Shalimar Pointe has some rough spots, but it seems they are working on them. The greens are spotty and the fairways aren't perfect, but that didn't detract from my overall positive experience. The layout is challenging with many doglegs and a few blind shots. Overlook the few negatives and enjoy your round. I used an online teetime service and got a great deal.
Great Value for The Money Spent
The course itself is a little challenging. The condition of the course was a little rough but the maintenance crews were very active making improvement. The staff were all very friendly. My main complaint is there weren't many yardage indicators to be found. They had removed all of the 150 yard markers and very few sprinkler heads were marked so distance reference for someone without a range finder was difficult. Overall this was definitely a great value and got me the golf fix I was craving while in Florida.

Great course for late season golf (November) greens and tee boxes had just been through maintenance but still very solid. Course decision was challenging and you could cruise all over the course in your cart. Overall great value for the rates and a good Florida style course.
Better than expected
The course was in better shape than I expected. Only 2 greens on the front needed work and the back was in great shape. You could see that they had been working on the course. They had reseeded the tee boxes and the fairways were in better shape than when I played it last year. Everyone was very friendly and I played the course in a little over two hours because it was kind of cold. I will definitely be back.

Nice day
Had a wonderful round of golf. The staff was friendly and courteous. I have played there for a number of years and have always enjoyed. The staff even forewarned us about maintenance work being done.
It's ashame that GolfNow did not have this posted as they had been notified. I would definitely recommend this course.
Slow play and groundskeeper interference
On both sets of 9 from and back there were people that did not allow play through for 8 holes. Even though they were playing at a very slow pace. On 3 holes the groundskeeper interrupted my play with driving by while swinging and singing and whistling while trying to swing or putt

Greens terrible
The greens have been terrible on this course for a long time. They say they are working on them but how long does it take. Layout is challenging and fairways decent. No one was out there but us so played really quick.

Rough shape
I’ve played this course when it was in better shape. The greens have a number of patch repairs. Several greens were relocated because of the condition of the actual greens, which meant your putting on fairway grass. Course was still soggy from rains more than a week ago.

Little rough, but beautiful, and so much potential
The course is laid out beautifully. It is victim of the weather, and the greens are a bit rough, but most were playable. The staff was friendly. We were from out of town and had to rent, and the cheapest clubs on the planet were trashed and unkempt. My driver had a hole in the club, etc., etc. However, I can't expect much more for $55 including rental??? The course has so much potential, with a good deal of maintenance needed.

Great bargain to play , but conditions are poor. Goat ranch?

Fun Day Rough Greens
To be fair the area has had several inches of rain within the last 10 days. Overall the fairways and tee boxes were in great shape. However the greens could use some work. We enjoyed the day and would return. The greens did not putt as bad as they looked, but had not been cut in a while.
