About
Located along the shores of Choctawhatchee Bay, Shalimar Pointe Golf Club enjoys a scenic, rolling landscape dotted with trees. This often-overlooked golf course has been considered one of the Emerald Coast's best-kept secrets but the word is beginning to get out. The course, due to its challenging but playable nature, has been used for U.S. Open qualifiers and it was host to the Emerald Coast Tour. The layout features immaculately manicured greens that are framed by strategic bunkering and water hazards on a number of holes. The golf course is challenging but fair with five sets of tees to accommodate players of all skill levels. The course is Shalimar Pointe's main attraction but it is complemented by extensive practice facilities including an expansive driving range, putting green and chipping green.

course was in pretty good shape. not many people and play was smooth.
Shalimar
Staff was very friendly. The front nine was closed for construction.
All the greens were burnt up.
Fairways had weeds growing everywhere.
The rough had tall weeds that haven't been cut in weeks.
All in all thet didn't deserve a penny of my money. It is no wonder I had to prepay because we would have left and found a better course. Lessen learned on this one.
This course should not be on anyone's Playlist even for free.
Fun round
Front 9 was closed for greens repair. Nice layout. Nice course. Hopefully greens repair is first step in improving upkeep.

Would not book it
We booked bc we thought it was a decent price. Green are the worst I’ve ever seen a course have. Pace of play is terrible since they had the front 9 shut down and you had to play the back 9 twice. Layout is a cool concept and all but between the terrible greens and bunkers that have had zero attention I would never recommend going.

Course was in great shape, had a wonderful experience!

The course was in really bad shape and the front 9 was not open to play.

Bad greens.
The old saying too good to be true certainly applies here. I saw the rate and decided to play.
There was nothing before I booked to indicate the greens were ate up.

Horrible
If there was less than a 1 star rating, this course would have scored it.
Shame to see such a nice design left to such neglect. Greens were unplayable. Worst I’ve ever seen. Front nine closed. Waste of time and money while on vacation. Even though it was dirt cheap, you couldn’t pay me 5X green fee to come back!

Worst golf experience I've ever had
Worst golf experience I've ever had, and I've played over 70 courses.
Not only were four greens under construction, but the others were all in horrible condition. Actually, almost everything was in horrible condition.
But what drove this home for me was the fact that a resident was walking his dog in the middle of a fairway without a leash. When he was asked to put his leash on a dog that was barking and running over to us, he told us to shove our clubs where the sun don't shine. With that kind of attitude towards golfers paying money to play at this horrible course, I'd say don't give them your money to begin with. Easily the worst experience I've ever had at a golf course.

Greens
Fairways and sand were in great shape but every single green was horrible ,they did warm us about 4 greens that were under construction and they’d fine but all of the greens were junk. Clubhouse food is a little pricey
