About
Located along the shores of Choctawhatchee Bay, Shalimar Pointe Golf Club enjoys a scenic, rolling landscape dotted with trees. This often-overlooked golf course has been considered one of the Emerald Coast's best-kept secrets but the word is beginning to get out. The course, due to its challenging but playable nature, has been used for U.S. Open qualifiers and it was host to the Emerald Coast Tour. The layout features immaculately manicured greens that are framed by strategic bunkering and water hazards on a number of holes. The golf course is challenging but fair with five sets of tees to accommodate players of all skill levels. The course is Shalimar Pointe's main attraction but it is complemented by extensive practice facilities including an expansive driving range, putting green and chipping green.

Greens could use some help
Great pace of play. Lots of value for the cost. Greens in poor condition.

Inexpensive
If you want to play and not pay the exorbitant rates of other area courses try Shalimar. Greens are rough but layout is fun. It’s seem better days but if you are an average golfer then worth it. Booked on golf now for $24 on Saturday for 18 with cart.

Terrible course conditions
I have played this course many times over the last 11 years so I am familiar with it. The current course conditions are horrible. The greens have large areas with no grass, the fairways are very thin with the grass and the tees are also in very poor condition. I will not be playing this course again for a long time until I hear that the conditions have improved greatly

I play the the worst golf course ever
The people was nice, I cud play in cow field it would be a lot better the greens was the worst I ever play.

Great course for the money. Always very friendly. Area had a lot of rain the week before we were there and that affected course conditions.
Payed for 18 only played 9
The greens were terrible and the rest of the course was like hitting off concrete. No beverage cart but bartender was nice. Would give course conditions no star if possible. Don’t waste your money!

Snowbird Golf
I've been playing the course during snowbird season for the past few years. For us, it's just a pleasure to be outside hitting a ball. The course does not over seed, so it's tight lies golf in the fairways. The greens and the bunkers are very playable. What I really love about the course is the layout. It will challenge your game and keep you coming back to try and beat the course.
Green are ruined
The irrigation is out of service so the greens were horrendous. Don't recommend for anyone to play right now.

Disgrace
Gave it another chance after a year. Sad to report that the condition of the course looks beyond saving. No idea how it’s still operating. What’s most upsetting is that the radio ad says it has pristine conditions! Honestly, save your money. Avoid at all costs. If they jd the money to make it right it would be a fantastic course. Hearing that ad on the radio infuriated me.

Solid Layout
This course has a great layout. Seems like not enough money for upkeep though. Bare spots on the greens was a disappointment. Still had a great time pkying it.
Needs Maintenance
Poor fairways and even poorer greens.
Course Layout ok . With some needed maintenance course would be decent.

Don't waste your time
I have never written a course review before, but this course is so bad, it needs doing. The conditions on this course, would not even qualify it for use as a parking lot.
The fairways, and especially the greens are beyond terrible. They should close the course to do repairs, or just shut it down and build more homes on the property. There is no excuse for charging people to "play" this course.

Terrible golf course, even worse service
This course would be best played in the dark, when you can’t see the fairways and greens, especially the greens.
I can get over playing a roughed up golf course, but the service was absolutely terrible. It was drizzling when I got to the course and had every intention of playing through the rain.
Once I got to the pro shop, where I was the only person in there the pro shop guy just sat there... No, hello or welcome to the golf course. He finally muttered a grunted hi after I greeted him.
Without saying anything else he immediately went into how I won’t get any type of refund, speaking in a very stern and dramatic voice, I replied with a - yep got my rain gear.
He then went on repeating himself over and over, clearly trying to convince me not to play since it was going to rain (probably because that meant he could go home). It didn’t work...
And I played out of pure spite, LOL. If pro shop guy would have just been friendly, showed any type of hospitality, or just wouldn’t have been such a richard I most likely would have said ok and just came back another time.
Anyway, I won’t be returning and would choose one of the many gimmicky mini golf courses over this dump.

Course is in terrible shape. Tee boxes torn up and uneven, fairways hard and lacking grass, greens are horrible...dead and bumpy.
I appreciate the review and it's fair in our current state. We lost our pumphouse and irrigation system during hurricane Sally in the Fall. That took away our ability to water course the course for eight weeks and apply our usual overseeding. The thinning of the grass we experienced then is really showing now. We are working hard on the course but really need the warm temperatures back to help fill some areas back in. Please be patient with us during this transition.

Greens will be better. Course layout was good. Friendly staff. I’d play here again.

Pretty disappointed
I play here every time I’m in town so probably the last 7 years and the greens are the worst I have ever seen them.... not sure why the course is in the condition it is because there were a lot of people playing but there definitely needs to be some major work done on greens...
