Located along the shores of Choctawhatchee Bay, Shalimar Pointe Golf Club enjoys a scenic, rolling landscape dotted with trees. This often-overlooked golf course has been considered one of the Emerald Coast's best-kept secrets but the word is beginning to get out. The course, due to its challenging but playable nature, has been used for U.S. Open qualifiers and it was host to the Emerald Coast Tour. The layout features immaculately manicured greens that are framed by strategic bunkering and water hazards on a number of holes. The golf course is challenging but fair with five sets of tees to accommodate players of all skill levels. The course is Shalimar Pointe's main attraction but it is complemented by extensive practice facilities including an expansive driving range, putting green and chipping green.

Very Nice Indeed
Haven't played this course in a while. Glad to see it back on GolfNow at a reasonable price and time slot. The course was in overall excellent shape. There were just a spot of two on a green or two that needed work, but that was it. The greens were probably the best we have played on while in the panhandle this trip. The layout is quite challenging still playing from roughly 6,000 yards. I hope to be back soon.
So disappointing
I’ve been coming down to visit my Parents for 38 years and playing Shalimar almost every time. This is the worst conditions I’ve ever seen the course. Burnt out everywhere. Piles of fallen trees everywhere. Shame to see a once excellent course waste away
Not the same course as in the past
This is a great track and a very challenging course however is not been kept up over the years. Have always enjoyed the challenge here however very disappointing since I was here last time it's gone farther downhill

Sprinkler golf
Second time playing the course. Due to Sally hurricane it had caused issues to fairway- dry and bald spots. We teed off after pm but you would think that they would know when the last group is playing before they turn on the sprinkler system. For the front nine, play was frustrating since you had to dodge them on the greens and fairways. Offered raincheck but clubhouse was totally CLOSED so no raincheck. A bit FRUSTRATING!

Great place to play on Destin
My daughter and I wanted to play a different course while on vacation. Shalimar was perfect. Nice wide open course, greens were tricky, and staff was friendly. What a wonderful day!
Only play if you can’t break 100
A goat ranch. Its worth 15 to 20 dollars to play. If your just learning and want to chase a ball around it’s wonderful. For anyone else who may notice course quality and condition select a different course.

You get what you pay for
We chose this course because it was the first round of the trip. It was $40 and it wasn’t worth anymore than that. As we pulled up and I saw the range I just thought of tin cup and waited for cheech to come walking out. The fairways were non existent and the greens looked like they hadn’t been cut in a week.

Challenging course, good for the money
If your looking for a value course, this is it. Challenging, need to play position golf. Greens were inconsistent. Overall good time, would play again.

Firstime playing here while traveling with a friend. We both have played Pete Dye courses in the past, this one has his touch all over it. It’s more about hitting to spot than hitting it far. The course was in decent shape, greens were firm but not fast. Lots of undulating fairways and fairway bunkers. Some fairways were pretty narrow so hit it straight is imperative Staff was super friendly and helpful. We would definitely play this course again.

Another Great Golf Outing
Shalimar Point is an excellent course that we've visited annually for the past several years now - and will certainly be back. Friendly staff, well maintained course and challenging enough for all calibers of players!
Disapointed
Was not told only nine holes open! Wold not have played if knew! Tees are like turtle backs and mostly dead. Greens are super slow.
