About
Located along the shores of Choctawhatchee Bay, Shalimar Pointe Golf Club enjoys a scenic, rolling landscape dotted with trees. This often-overlooked golf course has been considered one of the Emerald Coast's best-kept secrets but the word is beginning to get out. The course, due to its challenging but playable nature, has been used for U.S. Open qualifiers and it was host to the Emerald Coast Tour. The layout features immaculately manicured greens that are framed by strategic bunkering and water hazards on a number of holes. The golf course is challenging but fair with five sets of tees to accommodate players of all skill levels. The course is Shalimar Pointe's main attraction but it is complemented by extensive practice facilities including an expansive driving range, putting green and chipping green.

Golfer Reviews
Good value
Good value, the greens and tee boxes were in great conditions. I make tee time for 7:07 am, the only thing I didn’t like is that I had to shoot to 5 greens without the flags because there were workers on those greens.
good value
I enjoyed the course/nice variety of hole layouts. Some long 3's. Tees and fairways good w enough grass on fairway/not thin. Greens are interesting but there are some bare to sparse areas. Not a lot of water hazard. Driving range so so. No long range water views. Use a satellite to find it. I'd like to play ;it again.

Well maintained and good pace
I was pleasantly surprised after seeing just 3 1/2 stars on the ap but the course was actually in very good shape. I finished as a single in 2 1/2 hours so the pace was good. The only minor negative was that there was no starter so the random person I was to be paired up with never happened.
Last minute inexpensive
Shalimar was nicely cared for with very few people there today. Cooler cloudy weather helped
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us! We are going to pass on your feedback to the team. Thanks for visiting Shalimar Pointe Golf & Country Club, and we hope to see you again in the future.
Nice, good value
Nice, good course, good value. Very slow greens. Just a basic course, good challenge, views are okay, but mostly of back yards. Enjoyed the friendly staff and greens keepers.
Not up to scratch
We decided to give this course another try, the last time we played it was back in February and the grass on the greens had gone on holiday. They were in very poor condition. After hearing the advert on a local radio station boosting about how good the condition of it is we went back. Before we tee’d off there was a thunderstorm brewing so we asked if there was a rain check facility against it, we was told either way it was costing us $23 because it was pre booked. So we chanced it and decided to play. We got to the third tee and packed in because of the weather. What we saw in them two holes was no different if not worse than the last time we played it. The greens hadn’t been cut and were dyed a color that grass could never be and the second fairway had patches were grass just wasn’t there. This place is struggling in my view and it could never be cheap enough for me to play it again. It won’t be long before everyone who lives around this course has the chance to extend their garden. There are better places to play around this area.
Needs Maintenance
The greens were very sandy, couldn’t putt the ball straight, very bumpy. The fairways were decent. Overall golf course needs some touch ups all around. The layout is great and staff were very nice!
Fairways and greens need work
Been playing here for years on vacation because it’s a great value and great design. Fairways need some work with sandy areas and dead spots frequent. Greens are slow.
Great value
Unfortunately, the maintenance crew was behind us and I was not able to putt on freshly cut greens so all putts had to be hit more firm than normal, otherwise came up short. I was expecting views of the bay but unfortunately there was none. Overall great challenging course.
Meh
Greens were decent, course conditions about the same. You would get a good condition on one hole then poor to fair on the next. Paid $30, so for that worth the try. Wouldn’t play it again, would take my chances on another course for the first time.
Great course
The course was in great shape!! Staff was awesome and members were very friendly! I hard a great experience and will be back! The price was great. The course guide was big help on how to play each hole. The gentleman running the pro shop was a big help and very friendly.
Not good
The course seems like it could be great but it is just beat up in the fairways and especially on and around the green. Some areas of the fairway is understandable but the greens and around the greens need to be kept up with a lot better. Just my opinion but no way this is a dour star rated course.
Fun Course to Play
I've always enjoyed playing this course. There is quite a mixture of green sizes from small to large and very undulating putts. It really helps to have a laser range finder. The fairways are nice and green. The greens were a little on the slow putting, maybe they didn't mow them on the day I played. But overall, they were good.
An Enjoyable Round of Golf
I enjoyed my round of golf at Shalimar Pointe. It’s a well maintained course and reasonably priced. I was there as a single golfer playing a round on vacation. The staff was very helpful in helping me find the rest of the people in my foursome. Even though the course was pretty busy, the pace of play was not slow. The next time I am in the area, this is a place I will definitely return to.
