Nestled in the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains, Sequoyah National Golf Club is surrounded by mature oak and fir trees. Owned by the Eastern Band of Cherokee, the course is routed through flowered valleys that provide a colorful complement to the surrounding mountain views. It feels peacefully secluded but it is conveniently located less than an hour from Asheville. Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed the layout. The rolling terrain guarantees a range of different elevation changes but there are also some flat holes. The golf course is a tough test, offering several forced carries over water and severe dogleg fairways. The sloped greens are no easy feat either. Proper club selection and accurate approach shots will be generously rewarded. Sequoyah National also offers an expansive practice area with a driving range and putting and chipping greens.

Must Experience Course

One of the best courses I have ever played. Immaculate conditions all around from tee to green. Unlimited range balls a really nice touch. Most importantly though some of the most incredible views you will ever see in your lifetime much less on a golf course. Can't recommend this course enough.

Great views, very challenging

First time playing here. Easy to find, but parking is at a premium. Overflow is a bit of a walk, but not a deal breaker to me. Easy check-in, unlimited range balls with your fee. Almost every hole is a blind shot, so course knowledge is a must for a good score. Cart service was good and the views great, some breath taking.

Scenic and challenging

The views were awesome. Nice layout with downhill holes and uphill holes. Came to a 302 yard par 4 thinking it would probably be an easier hole, wrong. It played uphill, probably playing like 370 yards. You must play the course several times to know what club to hit and where to land the ball. Very enjoyable.

Sequoyah for the win!

Sequoyah National lived up to its hype! The course was in amazing shape and the views are spectacular! The pace of play slowed once but someone from mgmt came around and offered us free cold beverages and snacks and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience! I will be back soon!

Bring your A game

Great test of your golf skills. For a more enjoyable round, play one set of tees closer than usual. Put your ego aside because the hazards on every hole will humble you immediately. Even the lo g hitters will end up in trouble. This course forces pinpoint accuracy.

A very challenging round but the scenery makes up for everything else. Be sure to bring extra balls. O ce you go off the fairway the bramble will rip you up. And they cut it back.. Good luck and enjoy.

Wonderful Mountain Course

This was one of the very best mountain golf course. The views are spectacular. The course layout was very challenging with extreme downhill and uphill holes. At some holes you tee off from a very high point to a fairway far below. Very beautiful hole layouts. Green in very good condition although had been aerated a few weeks before we played. Fairways in very good condition and some were narrow. Did not see a restroom on the course and the front nine does not return to the clubhouse. The panoramic views are spectacular. . I would highly recommend the course and it is a must play if you’re not afraid of high elevations.

Pleasantly surprised

I was pleasantly surprised at the good condition of the course this early in the season. The staff including the grounds crew were very kind. We’ll certainly be back.

Need Marshals and support help

Gorgeous layout. Greens were aerated but only paid $45 for golf, cart and range balls. Great deal. Would have paid triple that if the greens weren't punched. Obviously the course is understaffed. Ran out of range balls but nobody to pick them up. Pace of play was absurd. Group in front of us were two holes behind and would not let us through. Need a ranger to dictate pace of play. Didn't get in my 18 holes due to golfers with lousy course etiquette.

Great Course, amazing elevation changes

The only criticisms were the fairway grass was just starting to grow and the greens had just been aerated.. The course should discount the green fees for the aeration.

Great Track

When I came to play I expected a fun simple and beautiful. I got a fun complex and beautiful I thought it would be too short and easy but it ended up being perfect forcing you to play your full bag and get creative. Greens weren’t in the best shape but still good. Just a warning though the greens are ridiculous to putt on with there being 2, 3 and even 4 different levels with some holes being cut right on the edge of tiers
