About
Cowan Creek Golf Course is the newest of three courses that are part of Del Webb's Sun City retirement community. Cowan Creek has a resort-style layout with a front nine that plays through the community, with the homes set well back from the fairways, and a back nine that stretches across the scenic Hill Country landscape. The back nine is slightly tougher than the front. Although the golf course is wide-open there are some mesquite trees and cacti that add some scenery throughout. The layout features large landing areas, forgiving fairways, and there are few tricks and hazards, all of which make it an approachable course for beginners. There are some challenges though that will appeal to more experienced players including a few blind shots, elevated greens and tees, and some forced carries. Throughout Cowan Creek Golf Course, golfers will find some interesting risk-reward opportunities.

Good layout
Newest course in the Sun City TX development, very well laid out. Multiple tees allows you to play your level easily. Greens have some tricks, if you read greens well that will pay off well here. Played the one day i had for golf while visiting in Feb - 45° and cloudy so I literally had the place to myself. I imagine the place is quite beautiful in season.

Sun City Cowan
Just remember it's Sun City so lots of locals, little slow but couldn't play thru because 3 groups all in row. No marshals to help speed up pace.
No cart girl BYOB is ok
No GPS so need to play once to learn layout and prefer driving locations some blind tee shots.

2:00 tee time.We had to play behind a women tournament. 2 1/2 hr front 9. Only got to play 5 holes on back.
Nice course!
Cowan Creek is a fun, nice course to play. I only play the course when I can catch it on a Hot Deal. From Buda to Georgetown, it only makes sense for me. The fairways are thin, but cared for well. The majority of greens are fast, but somewhere in the middle of my round I experienced slow ones. It was strange. The bunkers have sand, but people aren't raking. It kind of sucks to play a bunker shot out of a footprint. BYOB. They don't have a concession or vending machine. It's a beautiful retirement community. I'm appreciative of getting the opportunity to play their nice course. Thank you Cowan Creek Golf Club! I'll play you again in the near future.
First Timer's Impression
The course was fun and interesting. A couple of holes were very creative in the layout. Generally open and accommodating fairways. Greens were in pretty good shape and fairly fast. Looking forward to playing this course again some time.

This was one of the easiest reservations I have made. It is definitely worth the price and I will utilize this again. Absolutely NO hassles at all.
Great Course, Very Soft
This was an excellent course. The staff was extremely nice and there was nobody on the course (1:00 on a weekday though). The course was extremely soft, which is impressive considering no rain and 100* days here in the area. On the back 9 there is a drivable par 4 in which my tee shot hit the green and bounced back about 8 inches, completely stuck it, with a driver, now that's soft. The fairways were a little bumpy, but still very nice. The only thing that I didn't care for were the 3 or so blind tee shots. Playing a new course that isn't too much fun and even cost me a shot when I drove it through a dog leg. Other than the blind shots the course was in great shape and had some really fun holes. I would recommend a GPS device if you play though to help with the blind tee shots and a few dog legs where you aren't sure how far to the end of the fairway. Booked on a hot deal rate and it was more than worth the money, I'll be back here the next time I'm in the area. Oh and tons of deer, very cool to see.

Wide open confidence
Beautiful course that made you play with wide open fairway confidence off the tee. Some holes were very long, but there were others to take advantage of. Loved the challenging greens. Some had needed repair damage, but the maintenance was obviously being cared for. My wife and I were pleasantly surprised and our 36 mile drive to the course was well worth it.

Fairways where lush
The course fairways and greens where smooth.
The sand traps where a lttle wet.
The four of us started at 12:07 and finished at 4:38.
Plenty of water and ice was provided at the start and at the turn and the bathrooms were clean.

Cowan Creek on a Sunday
Tee time was 7:30, so had the course to myself. Great condition, fair greens and friendly staff. Only complaint is that tee boxes needed to be mowed. I'll be back soon!

Another nice Sun City play
This seems to be everybody's favorite of the Sun City trio. I couldn't tell much difference. They're all solid right now.

Overall excellent course
Overall the Tee boxes were spongey soft and green. Most Fairways were spongey soft. All greens were green and very well maintained. Overall everything was perfect and I will be going back there to play.
I didn't see once any sand on a tee box or on a green. Really well maintained golf course.

Great value
Great course layout, grounds are well kept, and the staff is friendly. Pace of play is the only downside, granted, the day I went was formatted in a "shotgun" style. Overall it was a good experience.

Easter Golf 2016
Grounds very well kept. Carts are newer. No Marshall on the course but pace was good. One slower group let us play thru, otherwise would have been a long day.
Course requires a minimum amount of prior knowledge to score well, most holes are straight forward and landing zones are easily identified. Bunkers in good shape. Greens fair and not too difficult to read. Finished round in about 4 hours.
We didn't use the snack bar, so no info on that.
