About
Cowan Creek Golf Course is the newest of three courses that are part of Del Webb's Sun City retirement community. Cowan Creek has a resort-style layout with a front nine that plays through the community, with the homes set well back from the fairways, and a back nine that stretches across the scenic Hill Country landscape. The back nine is slightly tougher than the front. Although the golf course is wide-open there are some mesquite trees and cacti that add some scenery throughout. The layout features large landing areas, forgiving fairways, and there are few tricks and hazards, all of which make it an approachable course for beginners. There are some challenges though that will appeal to more experienced players including a few blind shots, elevated greens and tees, and some forced carries. Throughout Cowan Creek Golf Course, golfers will find some interesting risk-reward opportunities.

Great course for the price. Greens were a bit slow but rolled nicely. No snack bar at the turn so byo food/drinks.
Great Course
This was our second time on the course and in some areas, there was a backlog, (our tee time was 2:55)
Other than that we enjoyed the course and will play here again.

Great condition, fun layout
The course was in awesome shape. Unfortunately it was very windy, but sunny, so it was still enjoyable. The layout is fun and not a difficult course if the weather's more cooperative.

Great layout
Great layout with good winter conditions. Greens are in good shape. Fairways were a little fuzzy but made for good lies. Looked like it would be a long round from the crowd at the number one tee box but completed it in 4 hours.

Favorite course
Out of the three sun city courses this one is my favorite. It is not the hardest of the three but the layout and terrain is nice. It had been about 3 months since I played because of the water main break over the summer. The grounds crews have done a good job of re-seeding and the fairways are looking nice.

No fairways
The fairways looked washed out and whoever aerated the greens did an extremely poor job

Thank you for your review and we apologize the conditions at Cowan Creek currently aren't in the condition we would like them to be. In the meantime, head over to White Wing or Legacy Hills - They are both in great shape!
Could have told us in advance
Love this course, but not so much this time. At check in they told us they had a water main break a while back and the fairways burned up while they were without water. The driving range was closed also. The greens were in great shape however and we were able to play. I would probably have booked at another one of the Sun City courses if I had have known about the fairways. I will go back again and play here once they get the course back in good shape.

wide open fairways
The course had the irrigation break and was brown but very playable. A variety of holes and tees to accomodate all golfers
Twilight time
Great price for being able to get in 18 after 5 pm. Fairways were good but starting to show effects of heat. Bring your own drinks/snacks. Clubhouse has vending machines only.
Water Issues
I played 7-26-15...due to a water main break, the course had not been watered in over a week...the fairways were parched and the dead grass crackled when you took a step. I suggest Legacy or White Wing until this course has the grass re-grown, which may take a month or more
Nice layout
The course was cart path only due to a water main break and their inability to water the fairways. Other than that things were great, the staff was pleasant and helpful as always. The only complaint would be no beverage service on the course. With the temperatures in the upper 90's this would have been extremely helpful.
