Well Worth Your Time
First time playing this course, and I was very impressed. Fairways and greens were in excellent condition, and the layout was challenging but not overly difficult. One of the best courses I've played in the local area, and look forward to playing there again.
Typical Florida course
First time playing this course.Pretty much wide open as far as trees.Lots of water and sand bunkers.Fairways are covered with weeds. The greens we extra small but were very nice. The soeed on them was good, not too fast but fast enough to my you think about it.It wasn't a course I would recommend without explaining but okay if your not looking for a private course condion wise.
Nice course at a very resonate price!!
Nice course in great condition . Nice staff !! We enjoyed playing for the first time on Sunday November 6, so much that we went back next day Monday Nov. 7 th. And played again !! We had sandwiches for lunch at the clubhouse on Sunday after playing and the food was excellent !
Don't play the Lakes Course.
The Lakes course was in terrible condition. Fairways were pretty much non existent. Booked online assuming since there are 27 holes, would be playing at least 18. Different ones. Wrong! Had to the play the Lakes twice because of a tournament. Ugh! Won't be playing here again unless it is free and I can't find anything else within a 100 mile radius
Great value!
This is an overall nice golf course with a good degree a difficulty and condition.
Rain has taken its toll
Played a week after Tropical storm Collin. All of the rain has taken its toll. Greens which have been very good have lots of bare spots and are struggling. Bunkers were all washed out. Fairways have survived fine. Still all in all an enjoyable time and a great value.
booking for a birthday reward
i like to play there, but ws not able redeem my birthday discount that was given by golf now last week on my birthday
Better than some but not as good as most
I live on the course and usually play this course twice a week. I would rate this course as average (3 stars). In my opinion it is on a par with municipal courses I have played in Livonia Michigan and Davenport Iowa. The fairways are generous and well bunkered. There is some water but it typically only comes into play on a mishit. The only exception is one forced carry over water on a par three. The rough is cut short. The greens are teeny tiny and also well bunkered. The greens have been undergoing extensive work to bring them back from very poor conditions and are now looking pretty good. However, there are some rough spots especially around the edges. The greens are relatively slow but roll true. The course is not very busy especially in the afternoons. I typically play the course in 3 to 3.5 hours. My longest round was around 4.5 hours. The mid to high handicap golfer will like this course. The shoty rough and generous fairways make for an enjoyable experience. The low handicap golfer may be challenged by the small greens which require either very accurate long irons and a good short game to get up and down in 2.
Good layout
Good course for value. Plays well if you keep it in the fairways..
Thank you for taking the time to review. The course is consistently improving and we appreciate you visiting us.
They call it Sandpiper for a reason
0-4 handicap. Course is very wide. Greens are smaller than average. Plenty of hazards both water and sand. The greens are very healthy albeit slower than average. Stimpmeter speed of 7. Yes I own my own stimpmeter. 30 bucks on eBay. Lucky for me I had a few locals to play with David and Wenn. Nice guys that offered a lot of advice on how the course was designed. Fairways had grass but also had a fair share of weeds. The tees looked okay. I would suggest this course to higher handicapers and others looking for a variety course that isn't difficult to play. Most of the water was not too much in play. The sand traps are hug and will catch off line shots.
Thank you for playing the course. We appreciate the positive feedback and welcome suggestions on how we can continually keep improving the course for golfers of all skill levels.
Best shape in months
Great course. Played the Lakes and the Oaks and both were in great shape. Hope to play here for a long time.
decent course, not worth the money
The greens were by far the best thing about this course..........that and the hot dog at the turn!
I only saved 3 dollars by booking on GOLFNOW, so not even worth the time spent setting it all up on here. My mistake and won't do again.
Great greens
Course was in pretty good shape. However greens were excellent. Maybe the best around the area.
Good Value for your $
The fairways are a little dry but we haven't had any rain lately. The greens are overseeded with rye. They are a little slow but roll true. The greens are small but if you hit them in regulation, you have a shot at birdie. I really enjoyed the track. They have 27 holes. so pace of play is really good for this time of year.
A real good value for the money.
Thank you so much for taking the time to review our course. We are committed to providing the best conditions for the best price we can. We want to make sure you enjoy yourself and want to return!
Not on GolfPad GPS app
There was an old gentleman suppose to play with me but he refused, he wants to play by himself, on Sunday where the course is full of people ..... how can you control the pace of play ?? He must be a member and local as he has his own car, the course may not be able to anything anyway. Again, with no GPS app, it's uncustomed like playing without knowing the yardage ....
This course plays well for seniors
We like to play this course as with 27 holes, you can vary which 18 you play week to week. Any of the nines set up well for seniors as there is not a lot trouble. Pace of play is generally good.
Thanks for taking the time to review our course. We are committed to constantly improving the conditions. As a 60 year old ,I must confess to enjoying the "Forward" tees myself!
great condition
the condition of the course was vastly improved on 01/15/16 from when I played in 2015
greens were in great shape and rolled true
the staff form the pro shop ,starter and 19th hole were the best
hope the course is in this shape when I come back in November 2016
Thank you so much for taking the time to review our course. We are committed to improving the conditions on an ongoing basis. Hope to see you soon!
Expected much more
Having played a couple of Sun City courses (Hilton Head and Huntleigh IL) we looked forward to this outing.
First impression was the carts were older and not recently washed.
Second impression, friendly staff.
Third impression n #1 tee was lack of manicure to the course. Rather rough around the edges for a course we expected to be well conditioned and maintained.
Perhaps the most glaring problem was the apparent lack of sand in almost all of the bunkers. We chose to drop out of the bunkers rather than playing them after first trying to "rake a lie" if bunkered.
The greens are going through transition, the overseed (poa trivialis) is dying out with the warm weather and we are pushing the bermuda to fill in. I am pleased with the progress, a few more weeks and we should be back in good shape. Thanks for taking the time for your honest review, hope to see you soon!
