In fair shape, but slow play on an uncrowded Sunday
I've played this course a few times in the last couple of months. The fairways and greens are in pretty good shape -- some pockets where water settles and does not drain well. The bunkers are horrendous -- a little bit of rain and they turn into mud pits. Then when the sun dries them out, you end up hitting off of hardscrabble.
On the Sunday morning I played, the round took about five hours even though it was not crowded at all. I went out as a single and when the twosome behind me caught up on #2, we played as a threesome. We waited on every shot as did the group in front of us.
They don't have marshals going around to try to maintain pace of play, and that's my biggest complaint about this course.
Very good experience
The course is in very good condition. The staff is very friendly and efficient. We played in about 4 hours and 20 minutes which is pretty good for a Saturday. The Red course is pretty difficult - very unforgiving for a bad shot. The White course (back 9) is more wide open and a bit easier.
Beautiful vises
First time playing the course. I was the first one out and was able to finish in under 3 hrs. The course is in great shape and there are some awesome views.
Easy to book and received a great rate
There are three 9 hole sections of the course. I played the Red and White.
Fast Greens, good shape
The greens were very fast and the course was in good shape. They were 10-15 minutes behind on tee times but the pace of play was fine. A good value
New Bermuda greens starting to look good...better than the failed Bent Grass greens
Fairways are in very good shape....plenty of rain this year, this month.
The listing on Golf Now for this date (7-30-13) did not indicate that aeration had just been done...and to top things off....the greens were being "sanded" the same day....putting was an exercise in futility...even from 3ft..!!!
The course and Golf Now.com should offer a 50% off coupon for return play to anyone who booked on your site to play that day.....with recent aeration and sanding....the greens were deplorable and totally frustrating to play on...estimate that it added at least 7 to 10 strokes to my score....and I am an above average putter....nuf said !!!
My advice don't listen to the guy who said wait until the greens come back
I'm not sure what course the guy who said the greens were gone was playing but it sure was not Bradshaw Farm. The greens were a little bumpy due to recent aerification, however they were really fast. Overall the course looked excellent from tee to green, I play golf all over Atlanta and Bradshaw in the last two years has consistently been great. I'm sure if you decide to play Bradshaw you will be extremely pleased.
This is very well groomed course. Will play again
Out of State friend played and would like to play the course when he returns for a visit.
My advice: Wait until the greens come back.
With all the rain recently I expected much better.
Would have been nice for GolfNow or the course to alter that the green had been aerated earlier in the week.
Not the time to play this course. Greens punched and no alert. Call the course before booking in the future to verify conditions. Very disappointed because I generally like this course.
every golf course aerates their greens if they have any idea what they are doing for long term success of greens. next time do your research and call
The course is in less than average condition
The greens were recently aerated and were not properly dressed. Balls ran very erratically. There was no reduction in cost based on course conditions.
Aerated Greens
I played here a month ago and the greens were the best I have putted on in years. Played on Sunday and they had been areated 4-5 days prior. The staff did not mention it and I felt the price on Golfnow was way to high for the condition of the course ($57). I have played on recently aerated greens before but these were unputtable. Very disappointing. I expressed my displeasure to the proshop and they issued a small credit for the inconvenience...
Great pace of play / hole variety
Bradshaw Farms will rewuire every club in your bag. Holes are seperate from each other. Great variety of green elevations and undulations. Areated greens should be forewarned.
pretty good layout...
Bradshaw Farms is a pretty good layout with some water and long par threes. Everyone who worked there was really great, but the practice area was just above marginal. Since it had rained recently they wanted us to hit off of mats and they were pretty poor. The putting green had just been aerated, so that was not in the best shape either. However, we had a good time and would not have a problem going back out there for the right price. The greens that were not aerated were marginal but super slow, and it was a shame that there were so many balls marks on them. The starter and ranger, John, was a really good guy who demanded play be quick...which is always a good thing.
perfect conditions
well worth the GN.com price great condition and very friendly staff
Great course
There are three sets of nine holes at Bradshaw and we were blue to red. Both nines were in great shape but the greens on red were way faster and more true then on blue. Was totally happy with the round, condition and staff.
Nice course - Driving Range is horrible though
Good course - 27-holes so plays many different ways. Greens, fairways, & tees all in good shape. If they would improve the driving range area I would rate the course higher.
Challenging yet fun
We played the red and white courses, both were in good shape despite all the rainy we have had. The holes are laid out so the intermediate to beginner will have fun playing the course.
The course was in as good of shape as I've ever seen it. Plan on going back soon.
Course was in very good shape. Greens were very well maintained. Folks in the pro shop were super friendly. Played the red and white 9's which are my preference there.
Greens are fast and run true. Excellent
Greens were renovated last year. Excellent shape. I came as a single, got grouped up with guys who used to be members and are really good golfers. The course was busy, Memorial day so it was expected. Very scenic, fair layout, the most memorable aspect of the course is the greens.
Makes all the difference.
I heard the teaching pro up there is really good with putting, just saying maybe you should check him out.
