Great Course Name, even a bell on the course
Got what expected, firm fairways, soft greens, a bell to ring to alert group behind i had cleared fairway below them, but didn’t expect so many blind shots. Definitely bring distance finder, it was hard to tell distances from tee to landing areas. Rough was tough for the beginner i was playing with. But was the only defense to this generous wide fairways that I still couldn’t find. ;-)
I’d play again if price was right.

Decent value for developing players
Worth about $30/round, no more than that. The fairways are in rough shape as others have stated. Lots of clay. Bunkers are full of clay and have very little sand, practically impossible to hit out of which is especially difficult because there are so many bunkers on this course. Overall, it's an okay course for players just developing their skills and looking to get on a full size course. If Lonnie Poole is a 10, Raleigh Golf Association is a 7 and Olde Liberty is a 5.

Bunker Play
Greens had been aerated are recovering. Bunkers didn’t really have proper sand and or deep raking

Terrible customer service
I booked a reservation through golf now for July 2nd at 10am. I called the course at 9am, and was told by frank, that the course was unplayable, and that he was only there to answer the phones. He advised me to make a refund request through golfnow. A few hours later, the weather died down and I called back. He said the course was now open and I went up there to play. Since I had already requested a refund through golfnow, I paid full price at the course. Fast forward a few days, golfnow responded to my refund request and claimed that the course wasn't closed, so I couldn't get a refund. After calling and speaking with frank again, he BLATANTLY lied to both me and the glfnow rep. I tried to call and iron it out and he said "I'm not going to argue with you" and hung up. I am now out 50 bucks. This is not the first time Frank has shown his true personality. He is often rude to me and to others that I play with. It is unfortunate because I do enjoy playing the course. But the disrespect shown by staff is atrocious. Save yourself the hassle and book elsewhere.

Water, water everywhere and …
… not a drop on those fairways and tees. Greens are watered but thats all - which is why the greens are usually the best part of the experience. Hard to understand why ole liberty is the red head stepchild of the Fred Smith family of nc courses.

Not going back
Worst run place ever. Such a joke. Drove 45 mins for an early morning round and the place didnt open on time. No warmup, carts werent ready, staff was sitting inside the pro shop while we knocked and sat outside. Attendant was rude and unwelcoming. At the turn there was no one in the pro shop at all for us to get drinks. Fairways and bunkers arent maintained. Waste of good potential, course has very challenging greens and could be turned into a good spot. Fred Smith management, what is going on here compared to the other 3?
