Bunker Play
Greens had been aerated are recovering. Bunkers didn’t really have proper sand and or deep raking

Terrible customer service
I booked a reservation through golf now for July 2nd at 10am. I called the course at 9am, and was told by frank, that the course was unplayable, and that he was only there to answer the phones. He advised me to make a refund request through golfnow. A few hours later, the weather died down and I called back. He said the course was now open and I went up there to play. Since I had already requested a refund through golfnow, I paid full price at the course. Fast forward a few days, golfnow responded to my refund request and claimed that the course wasn't closed, so I couldn't get a refund. After calling and speaking with frank again, he BLATANTLY lied to both me and the glfnow rep. I tried to call and iron it out and he said "I'm not going to argue with you" and hung up. I am now out 50 bucks. This is not the first time Frank has shown his true personality. He is often rude to me and to others that I play with. It is unfortunate because I do enjoy playing the course. But the disrespect shown by staff is atrocious. Save yourself the hassle and book elsewhere.

Water, water everywhere and …
… not a drop on those fairways and tees. Greens are watered but thats all - which is why the greens are usually the best part of the experience. Hard to understand why ole liberty is the red head stepchild of the Fred Smith family of nc courses.

Not going back
Worst run place ever. Such a joke. Drove 45 mins for an early morning round and the place didnt open on time. No warmup, carts werent ready, staff was sitting inside the pro shop while we knocked and sat outside. Attendant was rude and unwelcoming. At the turn there was no one in the pro shop at all for us to get drinks. Fairways and bunkers arent maintained. Waste of good potential, course has very challenging greens and could be turned into a good spot. Fred Smith management, what is going on here compared to the other 3?

Dog track but good value
This course is in bad shape. Greens were ok but overall it is badly needing some TLC. I’m a high handicapper that isn’t too picky so it worked but if you’re at all concerned with conditions then don’t play here. I played for $20 on a weekday and it was worth about that. I wouldn’t pay more.

Overpriced
I play this course quite often as it is close to home. The fairways are in better shape than recent years and progress is being made slowly to make them better. The bunkers are awful. More mud and rocks than sand. This course used to have some of the best greens in the area but not anymore. Course is 10-15 bucks more than it should be but I guess as long as we’re all willing to pay what they’re asking, I don’t see the prices going down. The staff is hit or miss. There’s one guy that works here who has the personality of a stick.

Nice layout--ZERO maintenance
I don't know if this was once a course that was in good shape or if it's always been like this. Either way, it's a warzone which is too bad because under all the disrepair it's actually a pretty lively layout. See other reviews for details regarding the brick hard fairways, funky greens, and general state of awful that is the course condition. I know it's early in the year but it's far and away the worst course in the area as far as playability. Don't know if a week or so of rain would help any. I just joined the FSC and decided to see what it was like but there's no reason to bother with a place like this when I can be playing Eagle Ridge or Riverwood. I hope the development in the area prompts improvements because this could be a course well worth playing with some upkeep and care.
