Unfortunately a very dilapidated track. Tee boxes and greens were decent but fairways, cart paths and upkeep were less than desirable
Love the course layout, challenging
The course is great, however, many fairways have incurred severe washout from recent storms and it doesn’t appear that they are working on repairing them. Bunkers and traps are a mess, no sand in the traps, just mud and stones, bunkers (if they were grass bunkers now have nothing but mud).
I will return again to see if they make the needed repairs as it is a long course (7200 yds from tips) as I am a long hitter.
Potential since 2019
This layout has so much character it would be a blast to play if it only had fairways and bunkers that are playable. I live in Wake Forest and we have a group of seniors who travel up to an hour and a half to play quality public courses 2-4 days/week. This course is the most convenient to our development but we don't play here. Our golf group of 50 with Tuesday and Thursday turnout of 12-24, weather permitting, play Heritage, River Ridge, The Neuse and Belmont Lakes regularly and conditions at those courses are nearly private club quality. If it was free, we wouldn't play this cow pasture because we're seniors and life is too short but we'll check the conditions every few years. See you in 2028 Olde Liberty!
BTW, I screwed up my Golf Now reservation and made it for Thursday when we were playing on Friday. I spoke to Don and he was professional, courteous and kind and fixed our reservation. Thank You Don! Don, if y'all happen to aerate and seed the fairways and grass starts appearing please let me know!

Practice course
The only thing this golf course is good for is to go out and practice hitting shots. It’s a mud hole and they should be ashamed of what they’ve done to this course.
Tragedy
It’s a tragedy what has happened to this very good layout. This place should be shutdown. There is no grass in fairways no sand in bunkers. Weeds popping up in the greens. The owners should be ashamed for letting the golf course become what is basically a pasture.
Mud Hole
This course should not have been opened on 2/05/2025. It was too muddy and wet to play. There was hardly any playable grass in any of the fairways. I have played it many times and it’s been tolerable. However, it’s pathetically bad now. The fairways were basically wet red clay. No grass of any substance. It was cart path only, which I didn’t mind, since I like to walk. The course was so bad that most of the time you were hitting out of mud. It’s a shame that the owner isn’t putting enough money to make it decent. It could be a nice course. The greens were okay. It wasn’t worth the time or little money paid! It’s a mud trap now!
Par Man
The course condition was as bad as any that I have ever played. Many areas with major erosion issues. The cart path had several places where the concrete and dropped and there was a 2 to 3 inch drop as you are riding down the path. Will never play there again.
Theres Better Deals for your money
The club house is a trailer, with not many food or drink optiosn. Majority of the course is covered in clay and seems to be washing away. The greens were in good condition compared to the rest of the course
Course with potential
Tee boxes, greens, and fringe / first cut rough around the greens are well maintained. Fairways and sand areas need help. Course could be really fun if the two areas see improvement.
Worth the price!
This course has improved so much since I played it 10 years ago. It was built during a drought and had major issues. Now, it is a great course with great greens...some fairway and rough spots still need maturing but I'd play it again today without hesitation. I was very pleased.
Fun Course to Play For a Good Deal
Some of the fairways had a decent amount of clay in areas with less grass. The bunkers were not in great shape. However, the greens were in pretty good shape overall. Definitely a fun course to play with friends, but I wouldn't pay more than $30 to play here personally. Overall, a good course for all skill levels.
