Olde Liberty Golf & Country Club

I play daily. I belong to the club with the Platinum Membershi which gives me the opportunity to play all day, every day. The course is challenging and a good value. I recommend this course.

Playing Old Liberty was truly fun. Hadn't been to a course this good in quite some time. The holes were challenging but not impossible to maneuver. In general, the course was kept in great shape. The greens were well manicured. Best I have seen in awhile. The back nine needs a little work on the sides of the fairways, to the sides but away from some of the holes, and parts of the cart paths where there is red clay. Nonetheless, I've seen this before on other courses in the area that were not as in good of condition. I would recommend this course for its value. I'll play it agin.

Although the greens had just been aerated, and it made it virtually impossible to read a true putt, the course was in great condition. I enjoy challenging courses with lots of slope, and variety in the greens… This course has it. I believe wants the greens are back to normal OLGC will be a great place to play. The one negative I have is the pace of play is almost unbearable. There were at times a group on the green, one in the fairway, and two on the Teebox. The couple in front of us were extremely slow, and would not let us through. There is not much of a clubhouse but for $27 it wasn’t bad.

Once again, for the 3rd time in a year, the management of the course left me irritated and mad that I made the drive out there and spent the money. Rude and extremely unorganized.

I've always enjoyed the course and founds it's rates to be more favorable than courses in Raleigh and especially evening play. Have not been able to play out of the bunkers in years. Fairways and Greens require desperate attention.

Sadly I don’t believe I’ll be returning. The staff was but the course is in such bad shape. The fairways are terrible. Entire course is nothing but weeds, rocks, red clay, and ruts. No sand in any bunkers, also full of weeds, and they haven’t been raked in forever. I swear my back and neck hurt from driving the cart across the fairway.

Not a single square foot of the course is level ground. Hard enough to hit the ball with perfect conditions. Every hole has grown up grass and rocks all over the place. Pace is extremely slow 30 mins a hole tried to get a refund for the last 9 and dude got an attitude with me about it. Would not recommend

Once this course is finished it will be amazing. The head pro Vern has been super friendly and helpful to me in the past year I have played here. It always feels like home here and I love it.

Golf here all the time because it’s part of Fred Smith courses. Having a membership gives you the ability to play 4 different courses.

Olde Liberty although not a totally manicured course it is definitely very challenging layout. Has a great practice facility to work on the game.

I can say that playing here for the last few years the staff is slowly improving the golf course. The staff is friendly and helpful.

I would recommend becoming a member because it’s a worthwhile deal to enjoy and improve your game.

Picked golf back up during Covid when the government shut down everything and found this gem. I fell in love with the course and it’s strategic layout. I started playing every weekend and it made more sense money wise, to just join. Love the staff, and I’ve probably spent more time in the clubhouse than out 3 putting. If I had to pick a downside it’s probably walk on golfers with no patience that disrespect the game.

First of all let me say the only reason we play this course is because my brother lives in the general vicinity. Mr Personality behind the counter was a total gem. Looking at other reviews I see I am not the first to run into him. The day before I had booked my round on Golf Now. Hot Deal. Which is usually always prepay. Upon arriving I was informed that there was no way I could have prepaid at this particular time slot. He insisted I must have paid a convenience fee or something. And I informed him that it was a hot deal and I redeemed my points for the convenience fee. Then he told me that there's no way that could have happened. They don't offer hot deals at the time slot that I booked. And that I would have to produce proof that I paid. At this point I asked him was my name on the tee time. He said yes. Now I'm thinking how did golf now book the tee time and not inform him that I payed. GolfNow is a pretty big company. But nevertheless I needed to pull up an email. I asked if I could use a cart to retrieve my phone from my car. He made me sign the cart out. Which I did. I thought it was a little petty. I'm a 62-year-old retiree. Did he think I was going to steal his cart? After retrieving my phone returning to the clubhouse and pulling up my confirmation. He hands me back my phone and says you're good. No, I'm sorry, how did that happen. Not to mention through all this he had been a little snappy. I felt like he was accusing me of lying. And then when I proved him wrong he was embarrassed. So I take my phone back and I'm about to walk out the door and he says hey I don't appreciate the attitude. I'm thinking after all this you don't appreciate my attitude. I owned a retail business for 32 years that maintained a A+ rating with the BBB. I know how to treat customers. This is not it. So after me politely telling him that we would not be back. And him politely telling us that was fine with him. My brother goes on to tell me that the guy had been rude to him several times before. And let me just stay for the record. No one ever raised their voice. No one ever used any foul language. He's just rude. And this is not the type of person I would want representing my business.
