The Golf Club at Eagle Creek

About
The Golf Club at Eagle Creek in Moyock was designed with all players in mind. At just over 6,700 yards from the back tees, the course is not overly long but there are several holes that provide some length. Formerly known as Mill Run, the course underwent renovations and a name change under new ownership. The golf course is wide open, which means wind will definitely come into play during your round and there are also several water holes. The course has a links feel without any of the harsh links penalties. Instead, golfers will find that the landing areas are quite generous, offering a little room for error. Four different sets of tees make the golf course even more approachable for a wide range of skill levels. Another appealing aspect of the Golf Club at Eagle Creek is the fact that it's conveniently located less than an hour from Kitty Hawk and the OBX beaches.

Enjoyable Course
Eagle Creek is a great course. Easy to get to from Virginia Beach. The course was in amazing shape: smooth fairways, the rough was very trimmed down, providing pretty good recovery, and the greens were super smooth (a bit fast but not too much slope). I don't recall to many sand bunkers, and water features were on the side of the course.
I must say the fairways were wide open and this is probably the most forgiving course I've played. Recommend for advanced and newbies alike.
As far as others ammonites, they have porter potties along the course, Marshall allowed us to go nearly 20 minutes ahead of our time to fill the empty tee times which is perfectly ok with our twosome. Their grill/restaurant has a delicious Nashville chicken sandwich.
I'll be back to play this course again soon.
Best greens
The corse is maintained well. The greens are the best i have seen them
Great Course at a Great Price
A very good friend and myself are frequently looking to play a round of golf. Having played this course previously, I had no objections in suggesting that we get our round in there. My friend has just recently decided to get back into the swing of things, no pun intended. However, he told me , after teeing off on the opening hole that the open fairways are very inviting and that the course conditions were amazing, to which I agree. We found that the greens are deceptively challenging as the undulations aren’t very dramatic and were in fantastic shape. Of course, we also found the rough on several holes, but it wasn’t as punishable as other courses that I had played. We finished our round by returning to the clubhouse for lunch. The quality of the food and friendliness of the staff made it a perfect end to the day.
Moyock Links Golf
My buddy and I made plans to get in a round of golf. I suggested Eagle Creek in Moyock, NC. He had never played here and was looking forward to playing here. We had a great time. The fairways were well groomed and the greens were equally well maintained. He commented more then once that the greens were difficult to read which added to the challenge.
However, we were wondering why no divot repair sand were available on each tee box or onboard the cart for fairways.
After our round we decided to stop in the clubhouse for lunch. The waitstaff were wonderful and very friendly. The food was excellent. The perfect ending to a great round of golf .
The only suggestions I would have would be to include divot repair sand on each cart to help keep the fairways from falling into a unfavorable state. Also, a beverage cart would be nice, especially on hot afternoons.
Fun course to play
The course was in excellent condition. The greens had been sanded and coming in nicely. Putted very well. The tee boxes were in excellent shape as well as the fairways. The staff was great and the food in the snack bar and grill was reasonably priced and very good. Will definitely be back to play again.
Excellent Conditions!!
Not sure what this course was like before new management but it was excellent now. I was only able to play the back nine, but they allowed me to play as many times as I could get in. Back nine was in great shape and played very well. I look forward to getting back to play the front at some point.
Very nice course
Course was very nice exceptional greens pace of play was very nice too. We definitely play again.
Under Water but still fun and good value!
Super flat, no bunkers, but LOTS of water. I will definitely go back to play it again when it is hopefully not underwater.
Course has a nice layout
I liked the condition of the course. The equipment (carts) was well maintained.
Affordable Golf?
The first time I played a round at Eagle Creek, was the end of the season ( November) last year. I was looking to play a round and since Eagle Creek is approximately 16 minutes from my residence, I booked a 10:40am tee time. I was skeptical as to what conditions I would find as we had a torrential rain the day before. There were several puddles on the cart paths, some excessively drenched areas adjacent to those puddles as well but those areas aren’t in play. Also, a majority of the cups were 2/3rds full of rain water. Other then that, the course was in remarkably condition. The fairways were freshly cut, and the primary cut wasn’t too bad either. The greens were in good shape also. Just a few small areas being treated but otherwise had my putts rolling true, but a tad on the slow side. Mostly likely due to the recent rainfall. This is definitely not the toughest golf course in my area, but it offers some challenges for the seasoned player from the blue or white tees, but also an introductory experience for the people new to the game.
