Great golf course
This is a great golf course to play and has a really good layout. However the greens are really tough with the sloping. But that’s what makes it so challenging. The only problem is the greens are extremely firm and they’ve been mowed all the way down. Getting anything to stick on them is really tough unless you hit the ball in front of the green and let it roll up
Greens are main issue
Played June 28, 20
on scale of 1-5
Clubhouse 5 Impressive large building
cart paths 4
fairways 4
bunkers 4
greens 2.75
layout 3.75
Greens are main issue limiting the grade of this course. I played this course about 5 years ago and greens were very good. Played the course about 1.5 years ago and greens had some bad areas. Recent reviews in May 2020 show that the greens were in good shape. Appears that the greens went downhill some recently. They are somewhat rough, but not bad enough that the course not enjoyable to play.
Green's still bumpy
Played on 6/29/2020 and greens still bumpy.I saw four gentleman looking at 10th green as it was being watered and they looked like they worked there. I will come back in two weeks to see if greens have improved.I would like to say that for those who review courses and say nothing please don't bother stars mean nothing if course not reviewed properly.
Bumpy Greens
The tee boxes, fairways were great but the greens were bumpy and losing grass in spots and were hard. They are about to aierate greens so I will come back in two weeks and see.
great course
First time playing this course and drove from charlotte and drove about an hour to me it was well worth the drive. The course was in great condition. I can not wait to come back out here. there were a fair amount of blind tee shots.
Below Average Greens and Problem with Staff
My friends and I wanted to try out this new place. To start off the greens were not in the best shape. They were dry and looked like they were dying. Also, there was a staff worker who came up to us and said our pace of play was bad and we needed to pick it up and continued to follow us to the next hole and we felt rushed and was not able to actually have a good time and have the full experience.
Rushed to play faster
I played this course for the first time with some friends of mine. We were approached by the course ranger twice telling us to play faster when there was one group behind us. Also, we were in the fairway and on the green multiple times and had golf balls hit in our direction. We did not appreciate being rushed when we paid to play there just like everyone else
275 Yard Drive is bad pace of play
Nice tee boxes, fairways, and rough. Greens on the front 9 looked like they were starting to die and were a bit shaky. Greens on the back 9 were much better. Our group of 4 was told to pick up our pace of play after the ranger watched each of us hit 275+ yard tee shots in the middle of the fairway. He then proceeded to follow us and watched us play the next hole. We finished with 2 pars and 2 bogeys on that next hole. Very disrespectful and disturbing to what could have been a nice day of golf. We will not be back.
What a Day
Today, I shot my age (70) and it was a perfect day to play. The tees, fairways and greens are in perfect shape and if you hit your irons flush the ball will stop on the greens. The greens run around a 11 downhill and a 10 uphill. There was no wind today and it was perfect for scoring. I want to also point out that there are no houses on the course.
Hidden Gem
Great layout with super greens
Be prepared to hit driver well, draws and fades
Hidden Gem
I am a 13handicap and thus course was great for my game. It was challenging enough and easy enough that I really enjoyed my round. Great layout thats tree lined. Even with the trees the fairways were fairly accessible to hit with my natural fade. This course has great undulations and great greens. The fairways are in great shape and the greens roll true. Unbelievable deal and worth the drive from Charlotte.
Fantastic Track
Definitely need some local knowledge when playing this course. First time was quite challenging, as the layout was unknown. Being the second time in playing the course, knowing the holes helped quite a bit. Greens are slick, especially 14 and 16, where you can easily have a four-footer that roles 15 feet past the hole if you are coming at the pin from the high side. In general, you gotta either come in high and soft, or let the ball land in front and roll up. Definitely will test your shot-making skills, as you experience quite a bit of elevation changes and shooting up/down at the greens. Still, a fair track, in my opinion. The hidden gem of the Charlotte golf scene. Greens in great shape, fairways with plenty of grass where you can take a nice divot and get proper spin. Never felt I was hitting off hardpan, which is a common phenomenon in Charlotte. Greens crew doing a great job. Highly recommended. Worth the drive.
Enjoyed Tillery
First time making the drive to this scenic course. It was in very good shape and offers a good challenge. Need to watch layout as some of the blind shots can get you in trouble if not careful. Greens are slick and have a lot of break. Many approach shots come from various types of lies - side hill, downhill, uphill. It is a great challenge to the golfer and an extremely scenic course. No two holes are the same. I look forward to returning as knowing the layout will help. Terrific day at Tillery Tradition.
Great golf course
Really enjoyed the golf course. Beautiful lay out. Fast greens . Friendly pro shop guys. Will definitely play there again.
Beautiful Course
This is a gorgeous course. May need to provide a better map for first time visitors as the course is very spread out. Had a fantastic time. It is beautiful and everyone who worked there was very friendly.
Fantastic course.
Best public course to can play within 70 miles of Charlotte. Worth the drive from the Charlotte area.
