Great Golf
I always enjoy a round at Tillery Tradition. Challenging design with excellent conditions. The greens were super fast and smooth. Another 2 weeks of growing and it will be perfect. I cant wait until my next riund there, even with the longer drive.
Shot 79 at Tillery Tradition
The course is a hidden gem, it’s more like a private country club and located about 45 miles east of hwy 485 in Charlotte. The design is awesome with rolling hills, slopes and fast greens. The first par 5 #2 is long and leaves a nice downhill approach to green to make par. Par 5 #9 is awesome with an uphill dog leg left off the tee. Leaving a gettable downhill 2nd shot for possible Eagle, but par is good. The back 9 is just as challenging leaving you with another awesome par 5 #18 dog leg left. The approach is over a small pond to make par. It’s a great course and always love to play here!
Fast Greens!
The greens were great! Firm and fast! Will be back on a regular basis.
Hidden Gem
Its a little bit out of the way but the course is a hidden gen. Lush fairways fast true greens . The course is tucked in the hills so it makes for challenging lies and tight fairways guarded by trees at times
A Pleasant Surprise
Our group played from the blue tees and found the course challenging but fair. The fairways were plush and the rough was medium height and had a few rough spots, but nothing to fear. The area around the greens was firm, despite the recent rains, and the ball bounced hard onto greens that were firm as well. The traps were full of sand and but the rakes were missing due to the COVID 19 restrictions.
The greens ran smooth and true. Medium speed as long as you saw the fall and break properly. There were very few straight putts.
If you want a course that is cookie cutter in layout and length then this is not your track. It is pleasing to the eye and a testament to good golf course design and maintenance.
I will take the one hour trip in a minute to enjoy the pleasures of the Tillery Tradition any time I can.
Amazing
My son and I played this course for the first time today. I moved here 4 years ago and I've got to say that this is one of the nicest, very scenic courses I've played around Charlotte area. It was in awesome condition. I highly recommend this course.
Golf during hard times
Played on 3/30 and only thing they could have done a better job at is mow the tee boxes and fairways a little shorter. The grass is green in the fairways which was great for this time of year. Greens rolled true with no divot marks and around a 10. There are no houses on the course and the course has great layout.
Tillery Tradition is Tops!
Great day of golf!! Very accommodating staff. Course was in really good condition. Best game be seen it in over 2 years.
March in the Uwharrie’s
Got out this morning to play Tillary Tradition. Greens have made a phenomenal improvement. As a southern course, Bermuda greens usually decline over the winter. They must have taken excellent care of these greens this winter.
Great day, great time
Wet but great
Friendliest staff around. CPO ,but in great condition. Worth the drive
Played on a cold wet day. Back nine closed. Greens are dormant. This course should be very nice during the warmer months. Nice clubhouse, a true country club feel. Worth the hour drive. Will be back.
Bad greens
Don’t know what they did to the greens but not putt sble
Christmas Golf
One of my favorite courses in the area. Conditions were wet so it was cart path only which slowed play a little but overall for December the course was excellent. Greens extremely fast and challenging.
Worth playing
Course was in good shape. No downside to playing this course. Staff was very friendly.
Awesome Greens
I played today 10/21/19 and I was amazed at how much the greens had recovered from back in June. I love the layout of the course ( no houses) and character of each hole. The greens were rolling around a 10 and every putt rolled true. The only negative was condition of the sand traps.I got a great deal on Golfnow and my buddy and I finished in three hours as there was no one in front of us the whole round. The clubhouse and staff are awesome and I will definitely be back.
What a fantastic course!
It was a little longer drive than I expected, but totally worth the trip. The clubhouse is beautiful, the staff was great. There are a couple blind tee shots but the layout was very interesting and fair. Fairways were rolling beautifully and greens rolled very true. Can't wait to play again.
Quality golf at a great price!
I reserved a 9 am tee time on a Monday for myself thinking I would be paired like most courses do. When I arrived there were only half a dozen cars in the lot and a foursome on the practice green. Staff was great! Felt like I had the whole place to myself. Considering the extreme lack of rain, the course was in perfect shape. I was never waiting to play or being pushed. If you get a day off during the week, make sure to go to Tillery. Definitely a hidden gem. Thanks for another great experience Tillery CC!
HOT day in Sept
Over all it was a fun course to play. Being from Michigan not used to the type of grass around the greens and rough Deep and fluffy so try to stay in the short grass . The only down side was is that when leaving one hole for the next tee there should be a sign for what direction to go coming off 13 we came to a road go left or right ???? But all and all I would go back next time I’m in the area
