I think a course should let you know about tempoary tee boxes, guess they were saving them for the tournament this coming weekend
Irrigation needed
From what I’ve heard they have plans to put in an irrigation system this year, it is sorely needed. The fairways are dead and the greens are rolling like carpet. The staff was friendly but the rangers still need to push pace more. It should not take 2.5 hours to play this course with how short it is, especially during the day on a weekday.
The Start
I’ve been coming to this course for several years and always the starter is rude upon playing which sets a mood for the rest of your time at the course which then makes an unpleasant start to your game. They need to relay whatever message they’re trying to say in a friendly manner versus authoritative and condescending. I’m a 62-year-old and there’s no reason that anybody should be spoken to in that manner. I’m not an unruly child.
The rest of the experience was great!
Very slow play!
If you tee off before 8:00 am it is likely you will finish in just under 2 hours. Later in the day, you are likely to wait 15 to 30 minutes on some tea boxes and a round of nine holes can take as long as four hours.
Enjoyed the day. Staff was great. Play moved. All was good.

Course is in good shape for a 9 hole course. They are repairing a couple of tee boxes, but have moved tee boxes to accommodate the repairs. Pace is slow as folks are teeing off about every 5 mins. I realize they’re a public course and are doing this to increase revenue. Overall a good little course along Lake Michigan in the city.
Great Time
Uber-early (5:38) round. Paired up with three others; got around in about two hours. Behind threesome who were slow, but not so slow it was an issue. Weather has left course in nearly top condition. Anthills in bunkers, but other than that course really played well.
Sydney Marovitz Chicago
Course was in fairly good shape. The pace of play was extremely slow with many people walking instead of riding. Very difficult to book tee times on their website. The website shows no available tee times; however, you can find times on booking sites such as GolfNow.
Good day at Marovitz
It's a gem on the lakefront in Chicago. A bit chilly and windy but the pace of play was pretty good and the course was in pretty good condition. There were 4 groups ahead of us that were all together and they played reasonably quickly for hungover guys in town for a bachelor party. The staff had them play a scramble after a couple of holes to quicken the pace. All in all a great day at Marovitz.
