Wentworth Golf Club

We were on vacation in Florida and decided to try a different course. We normally play Tarpon Springs but like to branch out. Wentworth was a great choice. Inside a gated community and the clubhouse was castle-like cool. The bar was pub styled and extremely classy. The few staff we met were superb. Quite a bit more challenging than Tarpon Springs with plenty of sand and an ample amount of water. Though play was tight at times, there were plenty of opportunities for error and a golf shot or two to get you back on track. 2 things that baffled me. The tee box placement. The tee boxes looked well cared for and were large enough for multiple tee block placements. This day, they had moved most of the tee boxes off of the designated boxes and into low lying, uneven and 4 inches of grass type placements. On a par 3, it was virtually impossible to play the tee blocks they had set due to the unevenness and long grass. Very confusing why that was done. The other concern was the golf cart seats. I've replaced over 10 golf cart seats in my day and understand the ease and reasonable price to accomplish this. The carts were 2019 Yamahas, I believe, and their were significant rips that resulted in large missing chunks of the front driver corner to be exposed. I'm assuming these are leased carts and that they will replace them. The picture submitted was the best cart seat by far of the ones that were available for rental. It was a shame that disrepair of the seats and the tee block placements were so uncared for and unplayable. We had a great time despite those issues and would definitely play the course again. Next time, we will certainly make plans to grab a bite and an adult beverage in the bar/restaurant.

Tried brining my golf group out on a Saturday, just to be told that the new manager doesn't give a group discount. First course that I've come across that does not do that. This used to be my home course, under a different ownership, and was very welcoming to golf groups.

We have played here several times and always tee off before 8am. Each time, as a 2some or 3some, we end up playing behind slow groups that have no intention of letting us play through, and we have to wait on every tee, and every approach shot.

This course also, for some reason, attracts an odd crowd some of which apparently don't understand golf etiquette. The last round we played it was not only slow (see above), I was hit by a ball of someone teeing off on a neighboring hole. He did not yell until the ball was hitting me. The ball struck and broke by watch and caused injury. The offender did not seem too concerned, nor did the marshal when I relayed the event to him.

I will never play this course again.

The course was very nice, very challenging different from a lot of other courses I played enjoyed it thoroughly the staff was great definitely will be returning

We have played this course many times in the last few years. The course was always in great condition but the last two times we have played has been very disappointing.The tee boxes were in bad shape greens were not up to a good standard,. We always have a meal in the pub afterwards and the price is good & food excellent, staff very friendly.

I used to play Wentworth years ago in a men's Sunday group. It has lost its luster from those days, and the greens could be faster, but it is coming along. This is a very tight course, so bring plenty of balls because if you vere off course, your ball is gonzo. I wish I had Moe Norman's swing! I'll play here again when my game has improved.

This used to be a top notch course, challenging and beautiful. We hadn’t played there since March 2022, we were shocked at how bad they have let the course go. The tee boxes were bare and moved all

Over to the rough. The greens were full of grab grass and multiple bald spots, ruts and divets so bad your ball bounced around as it headed to the cup. The fairways had large holes, dirt piles, trees down and laying there. The sand traps were full of rocks. It was in the worse shape of any course I have ever played. Won’t be going back unless I hear of improvement. Would love to play there again, the way it used to be. Hoping they put some money back in to it and repair the course to its usual beauty.

Wentworth use to be on the top of list of places to golf. We haven't been there since March. We played there yesterday (11/2) and were shocked at how poor the conditions were. It looks like an abandoned golf course. Greens in bad shape, fairways were bad and burnt out. There wasn't anyone there really, I see why. It used to be so beautiful there. I really hope they work to get it back in shape as it's a great layout.
