Crescent Oaks Country Club
About
Located just north of Tampa in Tarpon Springs, Crescent Oaks Country Club sprawls across rolling hills dotted with sparkling lakes. The narrow course has a traditional layout that was carefully carved from dense woodlands, making it a challenging test. The lakes as well as a meandering creek come into play throughout the golf course. There are also a few strategically placed bunkers along the greensides. The par-5 10th is one of the most memorable holes with an elevated green and a ridge cutting across the middle. Par is considered a good score on this tricky hole. The golf course finishes with a par-4 dogleg left that features water along the entire left side of the fairway. The green is also protected by sand on the right and water on the opposite side.

Manage your shots well
Crescent Oaks is a decent course, but plays very difficult for the average golfer. Perhaps I just had a bad day; along with 2 others in our foursome; after all our winner for the day was +1 after completing 10 through 18 (they started us on hole 10). He finished 18 with an 81. I admit I couldn’t seem to put 2 shots together but putting seemed to be difficult for all of us save one who made multiple 20 foot and longer putts. Greens were very difficult to read and somewhat inconsistent. Having played the course multiple times previously, I recalled past difficulties on this particular golf course and remembered how important course management is here. I just seemed to be between clubs a great deal and pushed beyond what I was apparently capable. Not a very fun course for 3 of us and one we probably won’t be playing again soon for the Roughly eighty bucks we paid to play. Course conditions not comparable to less costly courses around. That said, employees at the course were magnificent! Friendly, gracious and professional!
Worth the price
The tees and greens were in very good shape for the time of year. Carts with with GPS helped with smooth play. The pace of play was fantastic. Started at 1:15 for 1:22 tee time. Ended at just before 5. Under 4 hours is great in my book.
Greens were in good shape.
Overall the course was in good shape. Some greens were slow and some were fast. TZhis would be due to the time of year. Overall a good experience.
Great course must play
Great course, great layout and great vibes all around. Played on a Friday at 11 and got paired up with some cool people, had a great time course is challenging yet fair and good for any golfer. Carts are immaculate with GPS and Bluetooth. Cart girl was active and nice and all around fun time. Def play and I’ll be back for sure.
It was a beautiful day
It’s not my first time at Crescent Oaks, but it had been a while since I last played it and when I got there I remembered why. Don’t get the wrong idea - it’s not a bad course, but for eighty bucks, not worth the money. Folks working at the course: Fantastic! Friendly, knowledgeable, professional - the type of golf course employees that start your play with a smile on your face and who cater to your needs. Play started at Hole 10. Fairways were in average or better conditions for public courses in Florida. They weren’t pristine, but they were okay. Greens were actually slow to average speed and not as consistent as you might hope. Pin positions were actually pretty good, not always placed in the most difficult spots ( which we appreciated). Value was the second reason for the overall rating (3). Had we paid $30 less, we would all thought the course to be worth our money.
Great value
Teed off around 3pm. Loved the course, greens were on the small side but we were used to that from our home course. Beverage cart only came by once but it was really hot and no one was after us. Great course and great value for the money. Will definitely play it again.
Weekend Golf
This course was in excellent condition. Fairways were great to hit off and the greens were nice and fast. Staff was friendly and informative. The pace was behind due to a couple of groups playing slow in front of us and back ups at tee boxes due to the completely full tee sheet. I believe they were spaced out only 8-9 mins apart which I’d prefer 10-12 mins with us paying over $100 for a Saturday round.
Friendly and helpful staff.
First time at this course. Every staff member I encountered was super friendly and helpful. The Starter gave me a booklet on the course with yardage and descriptions of how to play each hole. I don't ever recall being offered or receiving a booklet like this.
Pace of play was good for a Saturday. No hassles from the rangers. Beverage.cart was timely.
I really enjoyed the layout. I would definitely play this track again!
Keep up the good work!
Enjoyable course
Moderate to slightly challenging course. Nothing quirky. Fast greens, good sand conditions, wide fairways
Very good Public. Course near Tarpon Springs
We have been coming down to Tampa area for the last 15 years. This is the first time we came across Crescent Oaks. It was a very good course and somewhat challenging at times. Overall, the courses in good condition and very reasonable for average players.
