Crescent Oaks Country Club
About
Located just north of Tampa in Tarpon Springs, Crescent Oaks Country Club sprawls across rolling hills dotted with sparkling lakes. The narrow course has a traditional layout that was carefully carved from dense woodlands, making it a challenging test. The lakes as well as a meandering creek come into play throughout the golf course. There are also a few strategically placed bunkers along the greensides. The par-5 10th is one of the most memorable holes with an elevated green and a ridge cutting across the middle. Par is considered a good score on this tricky hole. The golf course finishes with a par-4 dogleg left that features water along the entire left side of the fairway. The green is also protected by sand on the right and water on the opposite side.

It was a beautiful day
It’s not my first time at Crescent Oaks, but it had been a while since I last played it and when I got there I remembered why. Don’t get the wrong idea - it’s not a bad course, but for eighty bucks, not worth the money. Folks working at the course: Fantastic! Friendly, knowledgeable, professional - the type of golf course employees that start your play with a smile on your face and who cater to your needs. Play started at Hole 10. Fairways were in average or better conditions for public courses in Florida. They weren’t pristine, but they were okay. Greens were actually slow to average speed and not as consistent as you might hope. Pin positions were actually pretty good, not always placed in the most difficult spots ( which we appreciated). Value was the second reason for the overall rating (3). Had we paid $30 less, we would all thought the course to be worth our money.
Weekend Golf
This course was in excellent condition. Fairways were great to hit off and the greens were nice and fast. Staff was friendly and informative. The pace was behind due to a couple of groups playing slow in front of us and back ups at tee boxes due to the completely full tee sheet. I believe they were spaced out only 8-9 mins apart which I’d prefer 10-12 mins with us paying over $100 for a Saturday round.
Friendly and helpful staff.
First time at this course. Every staff member I encountered was super friendly and helpful. The Starter gave me a booklet on the course with yardage and descriptions of how to play each hole. I don't ever recall being offered or receiving a booklet like this.
Pace of play was good for a Saturday. No hassles from the rangers. Beverage.cart was timely.
I really enjoyed the layout. I would definitely play this track again!
Keep up the good work!
Enjoyable course
Moderate to slightly challenging course. Nothing quirky. Fast greens, good sand conditions, wide fairways
Very good Public. Course near Tarpon Springs
We have been coming down to Tampa area for the last 15 years. This is the first time we came across Crescent Oaks. It was a very good course and somewhat challenging at times. Overall, the courses in good condition and very reasonable for average players.
Nice track
I picked up this early early time and it turned out great! A fun and challenging course is descent condition. Greens were fair and rolling well. Staff was friendly and I was able to get a quick early round complete on a Saturday morning. Highly recommended!
Crescent Oaks golf course
This is an excellent public golf course. Greens are ultra fast. There are wide, but there are our hazards to avoid and there’s multiple tea boxes.. I rate this A+ public course!
Cresent Wednesday
Good job 👏 for the recent upgrades... new plants 🪴, fixed the bridge on 6, and always a great dinner 🍽 with Larry afterwards.
Probably the best value in Pinellas county, although I hate to share that, and see a lot more players out there!
Keep it in the short grass, friends!
Perfect Weather average pace
Always enjoy this course. Good tee boxes, nice fairways. Have a starter which is great, have cart service and also rangers are visible. Well run.
Fairways are open with exception of a few holes. I played with 3 others. I like that they group you even when you are a single, it keeps the pace up. Our 4-some teed off a 2:30 and we finished right before 6:30 so not too much waiting at all.
My only criticism is that the greens are not consistant. Holes 10-18 where they started us had greens that were "sticky". I am pretty good with speed control of putter and my putts were short. The others in my group were having the exact same issue. Putts were stopping short of the target. It forced the others in the group to over putt and go 5-8 feet past the cup on putts 15 feet.
Also the greens are bumpy in some spots and pin placement is difficult as many holes the pins are in front with elevated approaches. Scoring is difficult because unless you play there all the time, its hard to get many one putts per hole. Even 7-10 foot putts were not dropping for anyone in out group.
Hit'm straight
Excellent track. Must hit the ball straight Friendly staff. Small greens with a fair amount of water. Bring a few extra balls.
