Crescent Oaks Country Club

About
Located just north of Tampa in Tarpon Springs, Crescent Oaks Country Club sprawls across rolling hills dotted with sparkling lakes. The narrow course has a traditional layout that was carefully carved from dense woodlands, making it a challenging test. The lakes as well as a meandering creek come into play throughout the golf course. There are also a few strategically placed bunkers along the greensides. The par-5 10th is one of the most memorable holes with an elevated green and a ridge cutting across the middle. Par is considered a good score on this tricky hole. The golf course finishes with a par-4 dogleg left that features water along the entire left side of the fairway. The green is also protected by sand on the right and water on the opposite side.

Poor service
Arrived at course an hour early inform the starter I was a single he said he would pair me up {period} that he would come find me when he had a twosome or threesome I warmed up for an hour watching the starter send off twosomes and threesomes without even looking for me when I approached him about it he lied and said he had been looking for me when I hadn't watched him the whole time {at this point he had lined up about 8 or 9 groups of four at my tee time and I would not have started for at least a couple hours at this time of day I would have never finished my round and I could not go to another course to get another round anywhere else it ruined my whole day. Integrity of the people of this golf course is the worst I would not recommend anybody play there.

Love Crescent Oaks
Let me start by saying, this isn't my first time playing at Crescent Oaks, it's one of my favorite courses in the area. For one of my golf leagues, Crescent Oaks is our course for December. We booked a 4-some for a 10:02. We were advised that they were running about 15 minutes behind on tee times Not a big deal, it was a beautiful day and it allowed for a little longer warm up. Despite the initial delay, we never ran into any other holdups. Outside of a couple of greens and fairways having some bad spots, the course was in good shape. The greens were running fast and, for the most part, smooth. I have another tee time scheduled for this week!
Awful Golf Day
Booked & confirmed 3 tee times for Saturday. Called again in Tuesday and confirmed. We were good to go. Got there Saturday morning NO tee times for any of us. Ruined our day. Two of us were able to join a twosome for 9:00 tee time, finished at 2:42 almost a 6 hour round. ZERO marshall's or concern from anyone about the 3 foursome in front of us hold up the entire golf course. We play Crescent Oaks at least 12 times a year. NO MORE for me. I am done.
Donation Station
I decided to plant some future golf ball trees in the woods at this course. Plenty of off the path trouble. Challenging but rewarding. Greens were in fantastic shape. Course was well maintained, punishing yet fair.
Enjoy this course
Great value compared to surrounding courses. Like all courses, soggy in several places due to a ton of rain over the past week.
Completely average
An old Florida course that is OK. Not terrible, but forgettable and in average to below average condition. Greens putted OK. Some pretty areas of woods around a couple holes. Met a friend there from out of town and we would pick somewhere else if we had to do it again. Food at restaurant after was good. I live 70 miles away so we took a chance based on reviews. 3 star not 4 star course.
Great Course - Don't book through GolfNow
I have played Crescent Oaks many times and love the course. Great finishing holes on both nines. However, I do have a problem being charged for one of our players that couldn't make our tee time. I booked through GolfNow and paid their $10 service charge. We had 3 players that played as one couldn't make because they had to quarantine. They charged me for the 4th player through GolfNow. If I would have just called the shop the old fashioned way, I wouldn't have been charged the $10 or the $32 no-show charge. If you want to use a service that makes it convenient for you, then you better treat your customers appropriately. It's not like the entire foursome didn't show up...just one player
Ok course I am just spoiled
The course was yourctypicsl Florida course in a gsted community. Very pretty without a doubt, just long fairways and tiny greens. But still good for the $. I would play again.
Much drier than the first time
But still wet, you can’t change the weather. Once again the greens rolled excellently and held shots. Other than the small greens and lack of roll which made a few holes play way longer than the yardage on the card. All in all it’s a very nice course.
Really really wet
The course had over 5” of rain the day before. Considering cart path only pace of play was quick. We were paired up with a regular who offered good course advice. The greens were really good good conditions, some seemed really small. Would like to play again in dry conditions.
Great round
We were paired up with two other golfers and it was delightful. The greens had recently been oversanded but they were receptive and the sand was just about gone. The greens ran at about 9-10 but once the sand is completely gone I suspect they will be faster. Fairways were in great shape considering all the rain we have had recently. The entire staff from cart guy, starter, pro shop and even the bartender were very gracious. Highly recommend a trip to play.
