Located just north of Tampa in Tarpon Springs, Crescent Oaks Country Club sprawls across rolling hills dotted with sparkling lakes. The narrow course has a traditional layout that was carefully carved from dense woodlands, making it a challenging test. The lakes as well as a meandering creek come into play throughout the golf course. There are also a few strategically placed bunkers along the greensides. The par-5 10th is one of the most memorable holes with an elevated green and a ridge cutting across the middle. Par is considered a good score on this tricky hole. The golf course finishes with a par-4 dogleg left that features water along the entire left side of the fairway. The green is also protected by sand on the right and water on the opposite side.

Don't Play Here

I had some friends in town and wanted to book somewhere that tends to be reliable. We check golf now for tee time availabilities but prefer to book directly through the course as golf now takes a cut of the tee time cost. I called the pro shop to reserve a tee time for Saturday at 12:10 for three golfers no problem. When we showed up the next day, the course wanted $75+ tax even though it was cart path only due to overseeding. Golf now’s rate was $56 which he said he can’t match. We asked if he would honor that rate and he declined. We told him that’s fine, we’ll just book the following tee time at 12:18 through golf now if he can’t match the advertised rate. We tried to book the 12:18 and every following tee time through golf now and somehow, every single tee time was booked from 12:18 until 1:14 within a matter of two minutes which was obviously done out of spite by this very small “man”. We decided to play anyway and booked the 1:14 and get lunch inside at the clubhouse. We sat for close to an hour and watched as not a single group teed off. So in summary, this hollow shell of a man cost the course $300/tee time, falsely booking 6 tee times equating to over $1800 simply out of spite. I wouldn’t book this course again if they promised me a round at Augusta with Tiger Woods.

Not recimmend. Tee boxes suck. Greens suck. Fairways are ao lumpy you can never stand flat. The starter let the cheaper tee times in the afternoon jump to back and slowed it down so bad we wanted to leave. Used to be a good course. Not worth it at all

Good experience, but be advised: cart path only

I like this course and play here often. It'd be a reasonable thing to advise of cart path only. Some may choose otherwise, but it should be a choice made with this information, imo.

Needs some TLC

Arrived here for first time rate was ok 65-75 with cart . No range open and cart paths only were told after check-in lol

Range would have been nice but on we go . Many tee in tough shape uneven no grass just poor to say the least . General layout was ok , short from White tees many par 4 s under 300 yards

Paid 67-70 so average overall AAA far as cost goes

Def needs some love but has potential to be solid track with some work in certain areas .

Good

All good with the exception being that the tee boxes could be leveled and groomed. Fairways and greens were nice; bunkers spotty.

No… just no

Steer clear. Rude staff and owner. Completely over priced. Horribly maintained. Crappy fairways and greens that are so small you’d think it was a chip n putt course. Weeds everywhere on the green. Tee boxes are mainly crab grass. No water on the course. Pace of a 5+ hour round and nobody did anything about it.

Would Put -3 stars if I could

One of the worst courses I’ve played in Florida. Terrible fairways and greens, tee boxes are atrocious. Managers are a joke. We were on a pace for a 6 hour round before we were kicked off because I took off my pullover and was in a shirt (I was baking in the sun waiting for 20 minutes on every tee box). No water on the course for customers. Completely overpriced. Wouldn’t wish it upon my worst enemy to have to play this course. Steer clear

Overpriced

Poor inconsistent greens with tons of weeds growing, lots of bare patches both in the fairway and just off of it. This is absolutely not a $80 round, $50 at best. Teed off 40 minutes late for a 9:20 tee time.

Quality course

Greens in good condition, nice layout although theres many tee boxes with low visibility. Everything was up to standard and the only qualm I had with any of the course conditions was some of the teebox maintenance. I’d recommend and would return.

Rude Staff

I have played here twice in the last two weeks and the only nice person I have come across is gentleman in pro shop. “Head pro” or “assistant pro” is very unprofessional and is focused more on how he looks than the own operation. Rushed and rude staff plus members. We will never return, please understand this is coming from someone in golf operations for 10+ years. Please do better.

Cresent Oaks CC

Great layout, fairways and tee boxes are scruffy, but (tiny!) greens are very decent.

Larry, the chef there has great dinner 🍽 specials, so don't get the usual burger or chicken tenders lol.

Keep it in the fairway!

Had fun playing bad golf.

Played with 5 mouth breathing, nose picking, ball scratching, porch dwelling buddies. Went off at about 0900. in two groups of three. Had a Ladies league in front of us. They were great, Played quick. Check in was easy and fast. Young man behind the counter was great. The carts were clean and ready to go. Not brand new , but in very good shape. The brakes worked! (very rare). Starter was good and got us out on time. The course was in better shape than most in Tampa Bay area. Tee boxes, fairways, and greens were solid. Greens were slow at first due to morning dew, but dried out quick and rolled true. The Ranger is tough but fair. That is needed. I'm tired of Rangers afraid to do their job. Oh, the Range was real grass and in good shape. Beverage cart got with us twice on each side. Overall takeaway, this is a good course. It's run very well and not too expensive. Only slight issue, no charging ports on the carts. So, charge your stuff before you get there.
