Wentworth Golf Club

I learned long ago that most courses in the Tampa area are soggy and flooded after a few days of rain, which makes for poor golfing conditions. Certain courses I will not even play in the summer because of this. Enter Wentworth. Not glamorous or nice by any means. It is actually somewhat average for price and conditions, but when it rains heavily this course is the answer. Interesting that the fairways and greens are in average shape even in dry winter months, but it still manages to dry out quickly after lots of rain. There may be one or two fairways like #1 that are soggy, but this is my go-to when it has rained out every other course.

The only good thing about the course were the greens. They were a little slow but putted true.

This course was once a premier course in northern Pinellas. It is not any more. The course is in very poor condition with bare dirt in the fairways, very rough tee boxes and spare grass around the greens. The greens themselves were in pretty good shape, but were very slow. The sign on the first tee said the greens were running 10 on the Stimp, but I doubt that was accurate. If this course has an irrigation system, I suggest they start using it.

Overall good course. Green was really slow an needs to be mowed.

I’d played a few years ago and the course was great. However, the course today was rough to say it nicely. The tees were bare and not mowed. The fairways were the same. The play was fast and the course is tough and it made it better. I was disappointed with the conditions.

I’ve played this course multiple times over the last decade and I haven’t seen this course or any course this bad in a while! Only paid $22 and thought that was $22 too much.

Greens and fairways hadn’t been cut and were overgrown. Hitting out of the rough on almost every fairway it felt like. Not enjoyable at all!

Ever since this course went public it’s slowly been dying and it finally met its end. Won’t be coming back that’s for sure.

Greens were punched and sanded so did not expect great putting. However, the course has about six fairways with decent grass, and very playable holes and 12 that need extensive work. The lies are not too tight, they simply do not exist, Hitting iron shots constantly off hard pan after errand shots is one thing BUT the middle of fairway is, well, inexcusable. Fairways need to be punched and play suspended for at least a week for Mother Nature to revive the course. I feel for the need for cash but mine will be absent a long time.

I USED to play here quite frequently with friends but wont be doing so after successfully booking a tee time on Tee-Off.com website, i was notified less than 24 hours before my tee time that it was canceled. when i called the course the pro shop manager said they dont cancel tee times so it wasnt there fault and was less than helpful and closer to rude since he tried to rush me off the phone. when i offered to send him the confirmation number to prove my point he said it wouldn't help me anyway and they are booked. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME and go play one of the other 5-6 courses nearby (like seven springs, tarpon woods, or lansbrook off the top of my head) that are actually helpful when you call, except for Crescent Oaks since that is a sister club of theirs.

We always like be this course in the gorgeous Wentworth community. Aside for the course conditions being surprisingly gnarly, we enjoyed our round and will be back in the future.

It was the first and only time I'll play this course. A very poorly designed course and even more poorly maintained. It also has several situations where one has high exposure to other golfers errant shots. Not worth the risk on top of everything else.

I enjoyed layout even though it was kind of narrow on most wholes. Greens were in good shape but slow. Tee boxes are pretty bad very uneven and bare spots. Fairways where bare in spots as well but not horrible. Sand traps need lots of work luckily I did land in very many. They have a good deal to bad my shift won't allow mw to take advantage of and would want to play other courses included in deal before taking advantage of it.

The course is in pretty rough shape right now. Seems like there landscaping team is off duty. A lot of leaves everywhere including the fairway. Overall, not impressed
