Wentworth Golf Club

Pro shop said course was really coming along. Not so much. If I was a member, it would be very disappointing.

Greens were weedy and very slow. Fairways were also weedy and thin. Bunkers were poorly maintained. Only good news was pace of play was good since not much play was happening early.

On a whim I thought I’d try a new course and found what I thought was an ok deal. I’ve heard mixed reviews and figured I’d see what $40 would get me.

Well, I shown up about 30 minutes early for my 115 tee time and the lot was empty, went straight out to a nearly empty course with way better than expected tee boxes.

Nice fairways, defined first cut, rough is rough, and anything else is what it is. Plenty of water and sand, learn how to hit fairways and you won’t have anything to complain about.

The greens were fairly recently aerated but are already pretty smooth, just a bit slow. Another week and some rain and they will be good. The one thing I LOVED about the greens is they had more undulation than most courses I’ve played around the area and once they get smooth they will become a lot of fun and challenging.

The speed of play is great, if I didn’t live 30 miles away I wouldn’t hesitate to make this my home course.

Is it Copperhead, no. But for the price, it’s better than anything I’ve played that charges double that and isn’t as well maintained. AND, this place isn’t packed. Soon I’ll be having a group outing I believe. Loved Wentworth and have already recommended it to my Wednesday group.

played there many times, they went thru a rough time. but it looks like they are on the right track, really enjoyed my round.

This golf course is in a gated community. It is one of the best golf courses I’ve played. The course is huge and the cart trails are nice. There are plenty of deer. Cart service mid game. Starter is friendly, shop keeper friendly. Set the mood for the rest of the day. Really nice place

Brand new Yamaha electric golf carts. Doing a lot of improvements on fairways, greens and sand traps. Course is looking better and better. Keep up the great work!

With such dry and hot conditions kudos to the course for keeping the greens in such good shape.

The staff was friendly and pace of play was three hours and 15 minutes. We teed off at 11 and were in the car by 2:15 . Greens were excellent. It’s a great layout. Needs some work in the fairways and tea boxes but if you’re willing to roll the ball a little bit to a good lie at times you definitely won’t be disappointed in the challenge and enjoyable layout. Again greens were fabulous. Best greens we’ve played down in Clearwater. We would definitely return. Great value and pace.

The course is getting better every time I play here keep up the good work !!!

Wentworth Golf Course is going through a rebirth, so to speak. The new ownership is committed to bringing Wentworth back to being one of the better golf courses in North Pinellas County.

New golf carts expected to be in use by the end of May, new equipment to care for the course has arrived, so the great looking greens will be rolling so much better in the months to come.

Fairways need some tlc, but that will come in time.

Wentworth is a lot of fun to play, it is only going to get better.

The staff has this course in really nice shape and every time we golf here it just gets better and better, I hear new carts are coming and that’s gonna be great too . Repair your divots & ball marks and rake the traps please

This course has the make up and the surroundings to be one of the best near Tarpon Springs, but it was awful. There was little to no water in all of the ponds, and the course was not well groomed. Many of the fairways were rough length, and or no gross.

A positive peace was the fact the greens were pretty nice, just needed to be trimmed.

The course is surrounded by beautiful homes and scenery. It’s just been lost to who knows what.

I wouldn’t go back and play in the shape it was for the price it is at. Hopefully they improve it. I would love to play it in a good condition.

First time was for a scramble, it was a good time however the course conditions were really bad (April 2023). The Following year we returned and it was better, not great but you could see the improvements and areas where the grounds were being worked on. Went back a few weeks later because I saw a decent deal on GolfNow app and had a good time doing the back nine solo. Needs work still, but they are working on it and I would come back to play again.
