Rogers Park Golf Course
About
Located only minutes away from downtown Tampa, Rogers Park Golf Course offers easy access to Tampa International Airport and also the beautiful beaches of Tampa Bay. Although it has a convenient location near many attractions, it is secluded from the noise of busy streets and neighborhoods since the Hillsborough River almost completely surrounds it. The scenic golf course has water hazards coming into play on several holes and there are sand bunkers throughout. In addition to the course, Rogers Park is known for their extensive practice facilities. They boast of having one of Tampa's finest driving ranges and their three-hole course provides excellent short game practice.

Last time here
Absolutely nothing good to say here. Conditions were horrible with no green grass on fairways or rough, massive divots in fairways, bumpy greens from unfixed pitch marks, uneven tee boxes. Pace of play was nearly five hours because rules were not enforced. Teed off behind a group of 6, in front of them was a group of 5, when we got to the back nine another group jumped in front of us after choosing on their own to tee off the back due to backup on the first tee. We told the marshal and he talked to them, but let them stay in front of us anyway, which upset them and caused them to slow down even more.
Fun course for beginners and anyone interested in just getting out
I’ve been very impressed with Roger’s. It’s a fantastic place to learn golf and to polish up on skills. The vast majority of staff here are extremely knowledgeable and friendly, with the exception being one grumpy old man that works in the pro shop. Course is difficult for long hitters due to a lot of narrow fairways, which makes for a good challenge. Very fairly priced. Will be back.
Terrible Management
Tee times are over crammed. Today had a couple staff playing behind me who just kept whining and screaming out loud as we were all backed up. They even got their ranger buddy to come out and he didn’t say anything to them about the screaming. Made it an unbearable experience and I’ll never play here again. Spent 5-10m on each tee box all day and then dealt with that shxt on the back 9.
Overpriced
One of the worst deals you can get. So much potential at this course but a total rip off with the current shape of greens.
Excellent Considering.
Considering all of the rain and heat that we've had here lately the course was in great shape. The rough had recently been mowed and the tee boxes and fairways had grass where there was supposed to be grass. There were very few spots on the greens that could have been a little better but they didn't affect scoring at all. The greens rolled true for the most part.
The pace of play was excellent and we never had to wait on the group ahead of us.
I took off one star because you can no longer hit off of the grass at the driving range. They have installed mats you must hit off of. Also the putting green at the driving range has been closed for some time but I'm not sure why. I could see that it had been punched so maybe they're reworking it. You have to make your way around to the other side of the clubhouse to find another putting green and it's kind of small. I wouldn't let this deter me from playing this course again as it is one of the best in the area.
Rogers Parl
Good conditions, employees very customer oriented.
Booked 18 but was only able to play the back 9 twice due to grounds work. Course was very busy on a weekday since there were only 9 holes for all the golfers to use. Friendly staff and things were in decent shape. The par 3 course is cute and in immaculate condition.
Fine Course - Needs a Marshal
The course overall is pretty beginner friendly. A few crowned tee boxes that needed some care, fairways were fine, some of the greens needed some love and they were quite slow. The views on the course were quite cool with Busch Gardens as a backdrop for most of the course!
My only complaint was that this course needs a marshal maintaining pace of play. As I stated, the course is beginner friendly and seemed to attract a lot of ‘beginners’ the day my group played. We all start somewhere, but sometimes you need a little guidance from the course employees to just pick up your ball and move on.
This is a course I’m happy I played, would play again, but wouldn’t rush back to any time soon.
History and Culture
It was my privilege to return to the Historic Roger's Park course. For me, the course holds Historic relevance as it was founded by an African American trailblazer family whose legacy reaches even to Manatee County.
Is like to see the city invest more in upgrade to the carts and the fairway
.
Otherwise, the course was challenging but open to score in. I was happy to play there and I'll be happy to return
Great Course! Laid back and fun
Guy at the front desk was cool and informative. Good pace of play and the conditions were nice. Greens could use some work but weren’t terrible.
Always a solid course
I'm always happy for a round at Rogers Park. I was walking with another man who was in a cart and we cruised around the course in ~3:45. Pace was really good, and the course was in good shape. No complaints at all here. I got the course for $50 since I was walking, and the course was well worth that.
