Opened in 1922, Temple Terrace Golf & Country Club is one of the oldest courses in the Tampa Bay area. In fact, it's the only 18-hole golf course in Florida that's listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It's the centerpiece of the Temple Terrace community and it's much loved by locals. At 6,443 yards from the back tees, the golf course is short by modern standards but what it lacks in length it makes up for in other challenges. The layout has a traditional design with small greens and tree-lined fairways that demand accuracy. Several strategically positioned bunkers also come into play along the greens. There are some tight spots and a fair amount of tricky holes, but overall Temple Terrace is player friendly enough for all skill levels.

$65 is way too much!

The course is average at best. The greens look horrible but put ok/decent. It was 65 for a weekday and the last few reviews were pretty spot on. This is a 30 to 40 $ course. If the prices or course conditions change i will return(but not at anything above 40. Also be prepared for potential slow play. The members are rude and will not allow even a single through. I ended up skipping a few due to extreme slow play!

Temple Terrace is back

Played Temple Terrace for the first time recently. I’d been avoiding for years because of the reviews and condition. Thankfully they’ve really turned the course around. Tee boxes and fairways were in great shape. Greens have a few bumps from here and there but rolled true and we’re in good shape overall. Will definitely be coming back here. No driving range but a nice net by the first tee to warm up as well as a putting green. Love the older layout and there are some surprising elevation changes.

Best Value in Tampa

The 2-star rating is not accurate at all. Compared to the other public options in Tampa, Temple Terrace is not only the best option, but also best conditions and value. This 100+ year old layout isn’t long, but it forces you to hit every club in your bag AND has some of the most unique green complexes in the state. The greens roll great, but still have a way to go with some crabgrass issues.

Nice run

Course isn’t in the best shape but I understand it’s under a new ownership transition and seems like a good value while you can get in. Soon to be private.

Worst enemy

I wouldn’t bring my worst enemy to this course. Blow the whole thing up and start over or just leave it either way blow it up.

I usually like playing this course but this particular day was not in good shape and greens were diseased the tee boxes not good, butit looks like they're putting in a new sprinkler system so maybe it should get better. I've played this course off and on for 4 years and never had a bad experience until today.

Yikes. What happened

I have not played here for 2 years. I don't know what happened but the course is,at best, a bad muni. Greens have lots of weeds.

I live 2 miles from course and do not plan to play again.

A total mis use of moniquer " Country Club"

New carts with GPS are nice.

Guys at pro shop were great.

Needs Some Work

Like other reviews, this course COULD be great. There is very little grass on the fairways and “rough”. Mostly sand or dirt. The greens are top dressed with sand but roll nicely and are in decent shape. The irrigation system will improve the conditions and hopefully summer will let the grass grow out. Hole 18 had the best grass and bunker sand so hoping that is a sign of what it could be. Not worth $60 right now. Will potentially go back next year as I’m here on a trip and it is convenient to where I am located + was great to fly through as a 2 some.

Fun Course

Very nice greens, the course has a new sprinkle r system so in a few months this course will be in great shape. They need to hire a starter but other than that we had real nice time.

It’s gonna be a beauty!

The course layout is wonderful. The greens are in great shape and roll true. The staff and members are an absolute delight as well. We met a few members when we were waiting to tee off on 18. They shared the courses amazing history and the maintenance plans. The course is undergoing some updates. A new irrigation system is going in as well as new sod.. When the updates are complete it will be extremely lovely.

Horrible

Read the reviews , it’s a rip off. You’re better off at any of Tampa’s municipal courses. This place is beyond terrible.

GOLFER BEWARE

The course is under renovation, and the 6th hole is actually closed (Golf Now obviously does not know this). If you pay their going rate they are going to take you for $50 or $60 and you will be one Unhappy Gilmore. I REALLY hate it when a course does this. Just be honest and tell people the truth about your conditions and charge an appropriate rate (in this case about $20 or $25). I took pics but they were too large to attach, and I don't care enough to work that hard at it (believe me they were ugly).

Don't ever play at this cow pasture

worse course I ever played. They charged over 60 for a course that was like a desert. I will never return there. Avoid this course. There are tons of better courses at a better rate.

Nice course

Our weekly league course was closed from all the rain we got this week. Got on the GolfNow app booked. It was nice to play a country club. Wasn’t over crowded and was in great condition. We’ll be back again
