Temple Terrace Golf & Country Club
About
Opened in 1922, Temple Terrace Golf & Country Club is one of the oldest courses in the Tampa Bay area. In fact, it's the only 18-hole golf course in Florida that's listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It's the centerpiece of the Temple Terrace community and it's much loved by locals. At 6,443 yards from the back tees, the golf course is short by modern standards but what it lacks in length it makes up for in other challenges. The layout has a traditional design with small greens and tree-lined fairways that demand accuracy. Several strategically positioned bunkers also come into play along the greens. There are some tight spots and a fair amount of tricky holes, but overall Temple Terrace is player friendly enough for all skill levels.

GOLFER BEWARE
The course is under renovation, and the 6th hole is actually closed (Golf Now obviously does not know this). If you pay their going rate they are going to take you for $50 or $60 and you will be one Unhappy Gilmore. I REALLY hate it when a course does this. Just be honest and tell people the truth about your conditions and charge an appropriate rate (in this case about $20 or $25). I took pics but they were too large to attach, and I don't care enough to work that hard at it (believe me they were ugly).
Don't ever play at this cow pasture
worse course I ever played. They charged over 60 for a course that was like a desert. I will never return there. Avoid this course. There are tons of better courses at a better rate.
Good course to play
I enjoy playing Temple Terrace.
Course fairways weren't in the best shape but layout was good.
Lots of dogleg.
Nice course
Our weekly league course was closed from all the rain we got this week. Got on the GolfNow app booked. It was nice to play a country club. Wasn’t over crowded and was in great condition. We’ll be back again
Price is way too high
This course is in poor condition and tee boxes were awful. I would never play this course again.
NOT SO GOOD
The Tee boxes need some help
The greens still had the holes from aireation not completely full.
Worse of all, we were a two some, behind two groups, the one group in front of us, had 4 some on the first hole, and on the second hole they became 6
The group in front of them, was a 5 players group
No golf etiquete as they did not bother to let us trough even though we were right behind them at all times.
There was no golf ranger. not sure what is or has happen, here but I have play before there is been 8 months or so since but, there use to be someone there.
Today was just bad, and No I did not had a bad day I score a 74.
But if you would be that expensive you should at least have someone out there making sure players are NOT stuck behind groups like that, or there shouldn't be a 5 some and 6 some in one tee box.
Hope that helps..
BEWARE Horrible Condition - Ripping off Public to Subsidize Course Repairs
$65 to play a course that is under significant repair is nothing short of highway robbery. They’re subsidizing their repairs by ripping off the public and keeping their membership dues artificially low. Half of the course could be considered “ground under repair.” The Tampa municipal courses are even in better shape... I’d recommend staying away for at least a year while they fix this once beautiful course, unless you want to help them pay for it.
Losing its prestige
I have played this course many times over the years .
I am saddened about the conditions that all who play here have seen worsening over the last three years.
With the price charged to play here the course does not reflect the price. There are times you land dead center fair way
Then get to your ball and it like hitting out of a sand trap
Ther are also large clumps of invasive weeds in the fairway which inhibit roll out and tend to change directions of your ball
The greens also have weed clusters and the ball wont roll true.
I will not be back until conditions change
Great course in Poor Condition
Great greens can certainly change an overall opinion of a course. Unfortunately, the greens were aerated, so they couldn’t factor into my experience. Giving the greens a mulligan, my review is based on the rest of the courses condition, which was poor. The fairways, tee boxes, bunkers were all in the worst shape I’d ever seen them in. Sadly, this classic course is trending in the wrong direction.
Stay Away.
Greens recently aerated and no information or at least a warning was given by either the golf club or Golf Now. I paid top dollar to play this course and had terrible conditions.
Why not give a warning us or at least inform that the course had recently aerated the greens?
Hadn’t played TT in a while
Played this course, since it was reasonably close, hadn’t played in a while. Man, it’s in rough shape. The fairway has barren spots of sand/dirt. Greens were acceptable, but that’s about it. There was a guy using hole 5 as a driving range. Biggest complaint is course conditions for the cost. About a $20 course.
Gave It A Second Chance
Most overpriced course in the Tampa area by a country mile. A $30 course priced at $70. Course conditions “decent” at very best and the layout isn’t anything special. There are much better options
Don’t Waste Your Money
I’ve been wanting to play this course for a few years now, but never played it before. I finally got the opportunity and I was super excited. When I arrived I ended up paying about $70 so my expectations were on high. To my disappointment the course was in horrible shape and there were no flags on any of the greens so you just had to aim to the middle. I will never spend more than $30 to play here because that’s what it’s probably worth. If you see $50 and up......run
Sahara desert golf day
Only plus on the course is greens are nice and very fast, the rest of the course is dry and mostly dirt fairways, and around greens are all as dead as the guys personality in the pro shop. Dont waste youre money here course is as bad as ive ever seen it
