Temple Terrace Golf & Country Club
About
Opened in 1922, Temple Terrace Golf & Country Club is one of the oldest courses in the Tampa Bay area. In fact, it's the only 18-hole golf course in Florida that's listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It's the centerpiece of the Temple Terrace community and it's much loved by locals. At 6,443 yards from the back tees, the golf course is short by modern standards but what it lacks in length it makes up for in other challenges. The layout has a traditional design with small greens and tree-lined fairways that demand accuracy. Several strategically positioned bunkers also come into play along the greens. There are some tight spots and a fair amount of tricky holes, but overall Temple Terrace is player friendly enough for all skill levels.

Old time favorite
Have played this course many times in the last few years.. The greens were in excellent condition even though the course had a few wet spots! Staff is doing a great job on keeping it in awesome condition!
Great old-style golf course - relatively short, but tree-lined fairways, bunker-protected greens, etc. Unfortunately this course, which I believe is listed on the historic registry, is in financial trouble. Go play there and help them out!
A walk back in time
I've had the pleasure of playing this golf course on number of occasions and it never disappoints.
Course was in really good shape. Greens were soft and receptive although a bit slower than I remember. A great course to walk when it's not 95 outside.
Congested
Overall, it's a decent course for the money. I personally like a little more laid back, relaxed feel with less hustle and bustle, so this course didn't fit my perfect Saturday. The full course is surrounded by streets and houses and there were a ton of diversions and random noises all over the place, but overall the course itself is a solid playable course.
Super Nice Course
Very nice course and friendly staff. This is a must play course. It's just challenging enough to make it fun to play without beating you up on every hole. I played almost every club in my bag.
Still in my Top 5 golf courses for the Bradenton Area
Had a 0856 tee time but got out a bit late as starter explained that one group showed up exactly at their tee time which delayed us a bit. Not a problem as we pushed the group ahead of us most of the round. Course was wet in a few spots but not enough to spoil the round . As always the staff from the pro shop, to the dinning room to the cart guys were professional and very friendly. Appreciate the cart guys tracking down my dropped putter cover from the group behind us. Will definitely be back very soon....
:Pleasant surprise
Booked the golf course with Golf Now based on input from one of my partners. What a pleasant surprise. You would have never known it rained. The greens were perfect. The fairways were really nice some had had a bit of water on them but nothing that you could not live with. Pace of play was great 4 some let us through we were a two some and single who was behind was let through and joined up with us.
Classic design, very good condition
I played this course earlier this year during our drought. It was good then, it is very good now, as rains are improving this course. Greens are great. Tee boxes and fairways in good shape. Diligent mowing keeping the rough in shape during a rapid growing season. You can hit into a net to get warmed up.
Great course
One of my favorites in Tampa. Beautiful old course, very well maintained. No driving range, but I'm willing to deal with that. If you're considering playing here, do it. Can't beat the value.
Good Course
Welcoming staff and very accommodating when their may have been weather concerns, they were very thoughtful and gave me peace of mind that whatever happens with Mother Nature that they would make sure my round was enjoyable. Fairways in great shape and fantastic greens. Staying in the fairway is the main goal on this course and rewards you with good tee shots. Will definitely be back.
Quality golf on an old Florida course
A short, challenging course (6400 yards from the tips). Excellent condition with moderately fast greens. Lots of trees guarding the flanks and some strategly placed bunkers that keep this cours challenging. But...bring plenty of water because there are no water coolers anywhere except the clubhouse. It's also rare that you'll see a beverage cart.
Going Old School
First time playing this course despite living in the area for years. I have to say the fairways and greens were in great shape. The pace was the only thing I could speak about in a negative way. I would recommend anyone wanting to play a nicely kept course to play here.
The greens were excellent fast and true. Made very few putts as I had difficulty reading them but in a good way. Overall a good course to play
Greens are perfect
We always have a great time playing here but this time was exceptional . The greens were just perfect.
Nice course, great greens
I was in town for business. Got done a little early and found this course close to my location. Staff was friendly, green fees were a great value. Course layout is older, winding through neighborhoods. Not too long, but tight. Greens were in fantastic shape. They held shots and rolled fast and true.
Recommend.
