Good course and great value
Practice range closed very early. Course was in great shape and very short so it's a good one to work on iron play.
Aberdelgy
Recent improvements have made the course even better.
Nice course, terrible greens but signs of them being improved
Very short course but nice to play, holes are interesting and scenic. Some par 4's are very short, no par 5's. Small greens that were in very poor condition on the first 9 holes and not as bad on the back nine. Greens are bumpy, grass not cut tight, lots of holes I the greens- like if you pull a big weed out of the ground and it leaves a bare patch with no grass. Green speeds change across different holes but overall very slow greens. Fairways are good, fringe areas around the greens ok but some bare patches. Two greens being sanded and seeded when I played there so hopefully the greens will improve. Still a nice spot to play, I went back again the following week as it was convenient to me when travelling with work to play there after work. If and when the greens get sorted out it will be a nice place to visit.
Needs work
Some of the conditions of the course are awful greens are awful would be a good course if they kept it better
Good
First time playing it defiantly be back the only thing was spiked greens , spike holes where very big and not flattened after. But other than that was in good nick and a good round
Great wee course
Course has narrow shots, bunkers well placed, water - it’s a great wee challenge
Swinging without breaking the bank
This is a great little challenging course with some good sized par 4’s and a couple of nice wee par 3’s. I don’t think it’s going to be hosting any open championships for a while😉 but if you are looking to get out consistently and not break the bank in doing so then this is a great place to do it. Beware the greens are quick 👌.
Very Wet Course
The course was very wet and muddy which was surprising in August and preferred lies were played. Ball was constantly covered in mud and some of the greens had been recently spiked making them hard to putt.
There are much better courses nearby in far better condition. I would not play Aberdelghy again until the summer when the course is much drier and even then I will about it.
There is no clubhouse bar but the Crafty Hound is nearby where we got two pints which cost us a ridiculous £12.40!!!!
