Friday play

Great layout. Fun course. They are working on the tee boxes and should be ready to mow in about a week! It will be a must play for anybody that finds themselves on the coast. The greens are in good shape but they have already put some money in those too and they will be great by mid December.

Terrible condition

La Cita Golf Course has a great layout but that is where it ends. The course condition is the worst I have ever seen & I have been playing for years. It's amazing La Cita would even allow people to play while the course is in such bad shape. I won't be going back for a very long time if ever. Sad.

Ok fir price paid

I believe a review of golf etiquette is in order for the locals ahead of us. From taking carts right up to greens , sitting after putting ,marking score cards , cleaning clubs and generally just slowing down the pace of play they irritated us. On one hole after they left one of their foursome came back to the previous green as he didnt putt out. He ran to the green threw his ball down and putted as we were trying to hit our approach shots. What a piece of garbage he was. Wont play here again even though staff is very friendly the lical golfers are not.

La Cita

Arrived at club stunning club house. Was met by friendly staff who pointed out putting green and driving range plus first tee.then on to course. Such a shame the layout is stunning but the condition of the course left us disappointed,

Tee boxes with no grass on some just soil others just sand felt like I was playing some drives tee up in a bunker couple of greens with bare patches . Sorry guys hold on to your Dollar till they have time to sort out and when they have it will be a nice place to play .

La Cita Golf Club Great Layout

Fun place to play, challenges presented where water, and doglegs come into play. Have a few elevation changes as well that is nice considering most courses around the area have none. Did have a slow down of pace because a tournament was held earlier but only slowed pace on a few holes.

Don’t waste your money

Tee boxes are bad shape the fairways are bare in some spots and mud balls just about every hole. Not to mention the greens are bad shape as well. Do yourself a favor a go play elsewhere

Sad shape for a country club golf course

The staff was friendly and I liked the layout of the course. That being said, there was various things that made this course undesirable:

Driving range: Hit off the grass style, except where the ropes for practice were set it was mostly dirt, not grass. Plenty of grass on the practice range; perhaps they forgot to move the ropes?

Course Water: There were four water stations

On the course. None of them had water.

Beverage Cart: we were told there was a beverage cart on the course. In the 4.5 hours of play we never saw the cart come by (see Player management below for more on play time).

Bathrooms: only one bathroom on the course (hole 8).

Fairways: Lots of dead areas. Some areas we had to move our balls upwards of 20 feet to find grass to hit from

Tee Boxes: more dirt and sand than grass for most of the boxes. Also not very level. On the fifth hole there were no marks to know where to hit from. They were not even along side the box like you find when the tee box has been mowed.

Green side bunkers: No rakes for the bunkers. No rakes on the carts. Some bunkers had grass growing up thru the sand.

Greens: They were unevenly cut. The mower used three cutting blades (which is normal); however, not all three blades were at the same height. The difference wasn’t much, but when you are putting things like this (or a recently punched green) can throw off your roll . ADDITIOANLLY: there was some damaged areas on the greens apparently from disease. This necessitated moving the ball either from these damages areas or moving your ball so you didn’t have to roll they then.

Player Management: No course marshal or starting marshal. Because this course is situated in a country club, they had a wedding there that had the wedding party out next to the first hole fairway. Because of this, they were having players during this time start at the tenth tee box. This created a backlog and slowed the pace of play down.

OVERALL: This course has potential. For Florida, it had the most elevation changes if any course I have played. However, the conditions noted above need to be addressed to bring this course up to the decent level of play.

Pictures. When trying to upload a picture of the fairways from my iPhone, I received a warning that my file extension was not compatible.

Course Has Seen Its Best Days

I agree with the other reviewers - this course has seen better days and seems to be going the way of other "older" courses that lack the funding to give playing facilitiies the proper care to keep golfers coming back.

We did have fun, though, and caution others not to expect much in the way of manicured tees, fairways, greens and cartpaths.

The clubhouse, however, was bustling with activity in the middle of a Thursday as women's groups were finishing their rounds and heading for the dining factility.

Another thing we noticed was the attention youth were getting. As we were finishing our round there seemed to be a high school tournament in its early states with lots of parents in attendance. Good for the game and for the course. I wish them both good luck!

Goat ranch!

Horrible conditions. Tee boxes are sand pits. Fairways are dirt and weeds. Greens are bumpy and slow and beaten. Worst course I've played in Florida. Will not go back. Staff was friendly, though.

Great layout - bad conditions

I would imagine this was a great course at one time. Layout really cool and some interesting holes. However it is in bad shape- greens, tees and fairways need desperate help. If fixed I would be back, but not under these conditions. If in Titusville, play Great Outdoors (I would 7 days a week and twice on Sundays) - WAY better condition
