This area of Florida needs rain
Course is holding up fairly well under drought conditions West Central Florida is suffering from. Because Southport Springs observes 90 degree rule at all times which I believe helps the course survive extreme weather conditions.
Great outing with friends
Tee boxes limited grass, fairways very dry and no grass in a lot of areas, some greens have bare spots. For the price overall was ok

Surprised
This is a gem of a course and one everyone should play. Greens were fast and the layout challenging. The fairways were average. The food must be good we couldn’t get in , it was packed.

Fun course
Fun, challenging short course. Few tight fairways that need a straight shot or the trees will get you. Ranger keeps pace moving and enforces cart path by tees and greens, which everyone should follow at every course.

Tight but fun!
We had the last tee time of the day and it felt like we had the course to ourselves! We all played the whites- even the women- and finished in a little over 3 hours, even with a few lost balls. Fairways are narrow and frequently tree-lined, the course was in good shape and there are some interesting holes!

Southport Springs, while a bit shorter than most courses that we play, can be somewhat challenging in spots. The greens were perfect, but the fairways could use some water as there were plenty of bare spots. Not too much water or sand hazards which is a good thing for a high handicapper. It should be noted that there are several holes, while short in length are difficult because of the narrow fairways. Overall, a fun course to play and worth the drive from Port Richey.

One of the worst golf experiences I’ve had
3 Seven-Sums were placed in front of us randomly on Presidents’ Day during the back 9. I went to the staff to ask what we should do about it and he claimed that we played too slow even though we played in an hour and 45 mins. Outside of that, the course is in TERRIBLE condition even for the money… the claw is better lol. Just the worst golf experience I’ve had ever and I’ve been playing my entire life. The staff is horrible. Also don’t forget you are next to a gun range that you can hear your entire round. HAVE FUN!
Very hard to believe . Terribly Sorry to hear that , we pride ourselves on good customer service. Courses at this time of the year in Florida a very busy. We try to accommodate everyone.
Perhaps in future when you visit a golf course that you feel is not up to standard ,ask to speak with the Pro or the Manager.
