While Southport Springs was nearly 40 miles away from Hudson, it was worth the drive. It's a short course ( 4800 yds from the tips ), but one can still get into trouble on some of the "short" holes.....cloudy, hot, humid weather kept people away from playing today...my partner and I finished the round in under 3 hours.....
Great little course!
Southport Springs is a great little course to practice all facets of your game. There's plenty of narrow fairways to work on your accuracy and some wide open par 3's to test your skills. I really enjoy this course! Play in the afternoons and your usually able to play without someone breathing down your back.

Greens just punched this week.. so not in good shape.. Fairways were average. Staff great as usual. Back 9 severK groups got behind an unbelievably slow 4 foursome. And they refused to let anyone through. Several finally just went around them. Members were not happy to wait 20 and 30 minutes on a hole. Won't be back for a while......
Nice old course
It's always good to see maintenance happening when you play, this will be a course worth playing all summer fertilizer is being applied and they are watering the fairways, there wasn't a bad green!
Southport Springs
A decent course that we have played several times and have always enjoyed. But today, the greens were noticeable firmer to the point that you couldn’t get a ball to hold. Even affected short shots and chips to the green. Made play quite frustrating. I sure they will address the problem but it wasn’t as much fun today as it could have been.
Course has come a long way
We find our group playing this course more and more. It is very well kept considering that we have had very little rain. The staff is much friendlier than in the past. The course may be a little short for long ball hitters, but it suits us old guys just fine.
Southport Springs, decent little course
We have played this course 3 times now. Not a long course at all. Just something to do in your spare time. Probably have great amenities but we only played golf. The course didn’t seem to be in as good of condition as prior times we played. Reason unknown.
Great course for seniors

Title sums it up...
Not a whole lot of grass in the fairways, but the greens were nice. Not a bad layout and nice cart paths, but the houses made the fairways very narrow. Driving range was in the back so the pro shop gentleman said it was only for members.

Grumpy cashier
The cashier was very grumpy. As soon as I checked in he said he needed to check more people in and pushed me out of the small pro shop/ checkin. I went back in at the turn to get some snacks and he did the same thing again but this time there weren’t any people trying to check in. Course was a little thin on grass and some fairways were very tight with homes right next to the fairway.
