About
Opened in the 1970s, Zephyrhills City Golf Course has been a local favorite for more than 30 years. It is one of the area's most popular public golf courses and its convenient location just 30 minutes from Tampa Bay's attractions makes it appealing to visitors as well. The layout is a short 5,054 yards but it offers a player-friendly round that still has a fair amount of challenges. Water hazards in the forms of lakes and meandering streams come into play throughout the course and the bunkering may be sparse but it is strategically placed. Zephyrhills City Golf Course is approachable for beginners but more advanced players will enjoy it for a quick round of practice.

What this course lacks in quality is far made up for in friendliness. From the moment you arrive and meet the cart people and the starter YOU ARE WELCOMED !! ( Unlike many top notch courses that seem to say we really don't want you here. ) Then you go inside to the counter and every employee is happy to see you !!! Out on the fairways the maintance people smile to see you there. Sure the greens could be better but the management couldn't be. Even the fellow golfers are a friendly sort. All in all I LIKE IT .

Family outing review
Myself, my husband, our 18 year old son and 6 year old daughter went. All of us can hit the ball, and our daughter can sometimes be a little slower. We checked this course out, and played best ball since it had been a while... We had every intention of letting the fast players through.
I think we were on the 6th hole...maybe. One of the men who works there (was doing regular maintenance and clearing branches and moss) yelled at us, told us we were going too slow, and that our daughter shouldn't be playing. And if she really needed to, she should be playing from way down the fairway. He also told us we were holding up play and there was a line behind us which was not the case at all. But, we did sit out and wait... and wait... and wait until no one was behind us at all. It was extremely rude and for his behavior alone, we will not be back. Granted, the man inside was super nice!
The course is odd the way you go back and forth, but is laid out like on the map and easy to follow.
The course is priced the same a s A LOT of courses, but hasn't been kept up quite as well.

greens are not good but the friendliness of the staff makes up for it !!!!! FUN PLACE TO PLACE UNLESS YOU ARE LOOKING FOR PERFECT GREENS

Easy course to score well
My wife and I really like this course when we’re in the area. We’re not long ball hitters and my occasional southpaw slice gets me in trouble in a lot of courses. This course is very forgiving with very little water and few other hazards so we always score well.
This was the first time playing this year and the greens are in poor condition and the fairways could use some work. There are areas in the fairways where there is little to no grass. When that happens we just pick the ball up and move it laterally and continue to play.
Overall we’ll continue to play this course because of the golf now price and the fact that it’s easy to score well. It gets lots of play but we finished 18 holes in just over 3 hours teeing of shortly after 8am.
