Tilden course review
Keep your ball on the fairway theres plenty of hazards. This is a short but challenging course and it is walkable although number one and number nine are a bit steep uphill. They make a good and reasonably priced hamburger too.
TPGC
This course is fun and challenging to play. The forest setting is beautiful.
Not very many people but slow
Course has nice layout they need to not let people drive in fairways when they are wet ! Over all place is nice . Plays slow
Worst ever
Tilden had the greens were plugged and sanded. Didn’t know that when I made my starting time with Golf Now. Maybe I’ll play in September.
Not impressed
Full price for 17 holes. Makes shift hole with a patch off closely mown grass for a green. This hole was soft due to being in the shadows of large trees. The make shift green was terrible to try to putt on. Was fist tee time and this makeshift green was full of holes and foot prints and deep spike marks. Not to mention that it’s a down hill 87 yard par 3 that’s replacing a 350 yard par 4. What a joke. Staff was very unfriendly and rude.
Tough course
Tilden is my home course. I think it is one of the most challenging courses around. It is a mountain course and difficult to play.
Poorest maintained course in the Bay Area
I don’t know where to begin! This course wasn’t just getting aerated, it was like putting on sand and fertilizer! Also, I’ve never teed off on a practice mat! That’s how bad a hole on the back 9 was. For a former Bay Area gem to be handled this way while paying weekend prices is a farce. If you love nature, walk the park. For Berkeley to be so environmentally friendly, they completely shanked the upkeep on Tilden Park.
Take your leisurely day elsewhere when you want to enjoy 18. It sure isn’t here. Sad to say but I won’t be back until they do something about the horrible greens and tee boxes.
Fun Winter Round at Tilden Park
We had a great Winter round at Tilden Park. It was a leisurely paced event that fit the Winter state of the course. With long shadows, it is more important to stay on the fairway to preserve sight lines. Overall, it was a wonderful experience! The grounds were quite muddy, but the course is due to be aerated in the near future.
Almost no maintenance at this course
The staff seemed to be friendly and the layout seemed decent. However, everything else was lacking. Absolutely no maintenance of the course. The fairways had almost no drainage so were a risk to walk. The greens were the worst condition I have played at in the area (I golf usually many course and every weekend). No drainage on the greens and looked like players didn't fix any debits.
There was no official on the course or any cart lady. People said course is better I summer when there is no rain.
It was my first time at the course but I won't take another risk and won't be back.
Course was pretty beat up especially the greens. Still nice afternoon at Tilden.
Get a cart unless you want a workout
5.5 miles and 45 floors later... beautiful and tranquil course setting with stunning views on the drive up no matter what way you come. A lot of opportunities to lose balls here and the putting surfaces were not consistent hole to hole and were in needing a rolling and tighter mowing. Nice patio and good beer selection. Overall a good place to play if you can get a deal!
Hacker
Every hole has its challenge, which is why i went back for a second try at it. The course was dryer this time, and made it for easier play. I would recommend this course, to anyone who wants a challenge. Not a beginning course.,
The course was very Hilly And sloppy with mud everywhere
The course was very sloppy with mud and the greens were full of holes and Divet’s. There was also fallen limbs and timber all around. Very hilly
