Pace of play is horrible
Two players in my group (including me) quit after 12 holes because it had already taken 4.5 hours. That’s almost a seven hour pace! Tilden is always a 5+ hour round, but 7? No thanks. Not recommended until they get serious about the pace.
Awesome!
1st time playing course, greens were in great condition! Even know the courses very busy the atmosphere was beautiful it was nice being in the Berkeley hills the drive up is Awesome!... It overlooks the Bay such a little fool view...
Wait wait and wait longer
First time in 10 years I have walked off a course for slow play almost 5 hours to play 12 holes. No Marshall to keep pace up. Driving range is still garbage. Snack bar staff are slow and really could careless about service. This course is completely off the radar moving forward. Don’t ever remember seeing the number of people walking of course due to the pace of play.
There was a reason Tilden was dropped off my list of courses to play.
Anyone saying this is value works for the course.
6 hour round
Had a foursome in front of us who had no business being on a golf courses, they took 30 minutes per hole. Also had a similar foursome behind us hitting into us every other hole (no fore).
Last time played this course was over a year ago, Came back today and had a horrible experience. Decent layout and friendly staff. But the course is in horrible conditions! Water puddles on every hole, and apparently everyone that plays this course doesn’t believe in repairing their divots. Horrible and disappointed seeing this course in those conditions.
Everybody better show up
Tildennis a nice enough golf course with a decent layout, which is well maintained. However, BEWARE that if you make a reservation on Golf Now and all of your foursome does not show up, Tolden will have Golf Now charge your credit card for the entire amount of the tee time. I have been golfing for 35 years and never had to pay for a friend that did not show up.
Tilden Park
This challenging course hidden way up in the Berkeley hills is a pleasure to play. Tight fairways great tees and green fairways have some bare spots but great shape. This course can put a hurting on you pars are doable birdies feel like eagles.
Teed off early. Great place to play when it is hot outside. The course is in good condition. A little wet do to fog good food as well. Good practice area with putting green, pitching area., and driving range
Tilden Park
Course and greens were in very good condition . The pace of play was very slow. We had to wait on every hole for the twosome in front of us. The location is beautiful .
Very slow
Finished just under 6 hours. 10th tee box was backed up for 30+ minutes. Men’s club was playing, which was a factor. No Marshall pushing people along. Worst golf experience thus far. Will not play again and I’m a local.
Really bad course :(
I came back after 5 years away, and it wasn't long before I remembered why I vowed never to play here again. It's a terrible course. The first two holes are garbage. The driving range is poor. I think if you're a high handicap golfer, a low handicap golfer, a first time golfer...there are so many better courses in the east bay. And the WORST part is the five and a half hour round...don't waste your time here.
Good Course
Some narrow fairways and elevation changes make the course fun. Only gripe, the sprinklers were watering on several of the holes during our round.
Great challenge
Perhaps the toughest opening pair of holes in all of golf! Going 4 - 4 to open a round at Tilden Park is a huge challenge. Great routing with many elevation changes. The course makes you think on every tee shot and hit well-placed tee balls. Great group of par 3's from 7 iron to Driver. Pace of play is slow due to the difficulty of the course and many lost balls by the average golfer. Started at 8:08 a.m. and finished about 1:00 p.m. Range has 3 tiers and is reasonably priced.
Slow pace of play!
Course is in GREAT shape and was well worth the cost. Biggest concern was there was NO Marshals to help move people along. It took 5 1/2 hours to play 18 teeing off at 1pm. Should have taken no more than 4 1/2! We had groups hitting 2-3 balls per person in front of us then looking for 5+ minutes to find their bad shots! If you come play Tilden realize you will lose some balls and move on. Otherwise it was an AWESOME day!!
Nice course with elevations galore
Hilly course... was fine until about 6 pm when the FOG rolls in.. then it`s chilly. Was nice until with 4 holes to go the 2 some in front of us, the guy was giving "golf lessons"" And the hack player hit like 4 tee shots … holding up our 4 some. Pace of play slow... but hey it was a Sunday afternoon. Course could use a "Marshall" to field complaints, or return clubs.. as the group in front of us left their wedge.
