Hour delay from start time
It took 6 hours from the time we were supposed to start to finish our round. Worse than that, the staff did not even care. I think this is a beautiful course but I am highly considering never going back there again.
A must for those who like scenery while golfing
Very nice course with more than suitable conditions. A couple of the fairway literally run parallel to each other and right next to one another. The scenery is gorgeous! If I had to give them a markdown for something, it would be some of the tee boxes. Several were very muddy and difficult to find a good launching spot. Overall I would have to say "give it a try".
Great course if time is no issue
If you have all day (at least 5 hours on Saturday), this course is well worth the effort to find it and play it. Fairways were superbly mowed and greens were in remarkable, if not perfect, condition. Because of the type of grass used on the greens, they ran slow and broke hard. Made putting the most difficult challenge. Beautiful vistas, elevated tee boxes, and fabulous BBQ Bacon Chicken Wrap at the turn.
unique to area
course was perfect incuding greens beautiful forest type surroundings this aspect sets it apart from other local courses feels like your playing in oregon or tahoe area thank you
Good test of skills, for all levels
Great Location
Nice Bar
Nice practice greens and driving range
Greens were amazing .
I have played this course at least 10 times and yesterday it was in the best shape I have ever seen . The greens were the best around and the fairways looked like Augusta . Very impressed going back next week .
Well Maintained
With a senior discount the course was in good shape and a good value for the money.
good condition
Greens were excellent smooth and medium fast. Fairways good but a few muddy spots. Sand continues to be hard pan dirt in many of the traps.
Our first time playing at Tilden Park. I'll come back to play many more times.
Thank to Golfnow.com to provide Hot deal (50% off). We tee at 1:55PM and finished by 6:15PM. Course is in good condition. green is slow and unpredictable.
Old school course
I really enjoy playing Tilden Park. I enjoy being away from traffic and the noises of the city. The course I consider an old school set up. The par 4's aren't too long, but the par 3's get long from the blues. There are false fronts and the greens are well bunkered. This particular day the greens were slow and sandy from aeration. I wish that courses would say that in their golf now times. It's really annoying to get to the first green and find out. Other than that a great experience. I will be returning many times this season. The course is in great shape.
Great Day!!!
This was the first time I've played this course and it was well worth the day off from work to play. The course was in great condition an absolutely beautiful! My friend and I had a great day of golf!
Prepare to wait and wait some more
Play early if you can! There was a 20 minute delay in our tee time, but that wasn't the worst part. It took us over 4 hours to play 9 holes! I really like the course minus the pile-up of people playing.
Still a little muddy
Tilden is always a fun and challenging course. It was still a bit wet out on the course making some fairway shots less than ideal which is strange since we haven't had rain in weeks.
The wetness also varied on the greens making putting on each hole a guess. But we played 18 in less than 5 hours without waiting on anyone or being pushed which makes for an enjoyable day in my book.
Waited about 5-10 minutes at each tee box.
Waited about 5-10 minutes at each tee box.
Only played about 11 holes due to horrible conditions, and my entire group decided it was best to leave. No major storms prior to our round, but course was damp and muddy. Even fairways were muddy and the ball would plug and be lost. Golf clubs and golf towel are completely covered in mud. Pants and shoes are basically ruined. Should have left after 3 holes.
Find somewhere else to play in the Bay Area, especially in the winter
Course staff totally unorganized, no idea of who was teeing off or when for the first 3-4 foursomes in the morning. Starter was talking smack to my friend on the first tee because he shanked his drive to the left and we were playing the blues. Zero golf etiquette, he was literally talking in his prep and when he was at address.
Nobody behind us all day, they next group was 2 and 1/2 holes back, oh and by the way on the first tee the blues add like 5 yards.
Course retains too much water and was like playing in a mud puddle.
It's a good looking course and plays much better in the summer, but with the poor course management, I won't be returning.
Quiet little gem in the Berkley Hills
This course is a great challenge for any golfer. I've played here several times and will continue to come back. Well maintained greens and fairways. Highly recommend playing here.
Beautiful course
After playing Tilden, it instantly became one of my favorites. It's in a beautiful setting, very scenic, very interesting and challenging. The weather was perfect for us so that added to our experience.
The course was maintained very well, with the only knock being that it doesn't seem to drain well. The fairways were very wet even though we hadn't had rain in several days. Otherwise though, excellent experience. Will definitely take out of town guests there.
Scenic, difficult course with considerable elevation change
This is a beautiful, but challenging course. The fairways are very unforgiving and the hills are brutal - definitely not the right course for a beginner (I'm not a beginner, but my partner and I ripped up our scorecard around the 16th hole...). The constant elevation changes can be challenging and the Back 9 is a tight squeeze - be prepared to yell Fore quite a bit. The course is well-maintained and the snack bar is awesome. I'm not sure what the usual rates are, but we got a great deal on GolfNow.
The course has a beautiful setting
Except for the fog on this particular day we really enjoyed the course.
Distractions and crowds abound on tees, greens & fairways
If you don't mind carts going by and people talking in your backswing, this is the course for you. The high, hilly scenery lined with trees will remind you of the Sierras, but the layout is so tight you will get to know several other groups on the course. The tees and greens are in clusters, so Fore! has people ducking throughout the round.
