The Golf Club at Rancho California

This course is always in good condition. Greens are fast and true. Probably one of the best courses in the area. I recommend this course.

Played several times, live about 45 minutes away and worth the drive. Course was in great shape, always fun to play.

I played early in the am and the course overall was in great shape. The greens were by far the shining star running about a 10-11. Really smooth and slick if above the hole. The rest of the course was good with a few bare spots in the fairways, bunkers had some thin areas but for the most part, very playable. Course marshall was very accomodating and got me out a few groups early. Get there a little early as they have a nice practice area.

This course brought a challenge to mist holes. A lot of elevated greens, especially the par 3s made both short and long approach shots difficult. My complaint was the pace of play due to the number of juniors practising on the course. We were pared with a couple of them and because it was a practise round for them they chipped and putted several times around each green making it impossible for me to focus on my game. The course should make sure the hrs are paired with each other not golfers out for a game.

A hard course to rate. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The greens (bar 3 which needed work) were receptive and very fast and the fairways were wide enough to be friendly but there were a few holes which did punish you for a wayward shot.

The tee boxes weren’t great and the fairways weren’t the best we’d played but they were ok. I would suggest a bell on the first fairway though to be rung as people pass. The tee shot is blind downhill so you’re not sure if you can go or not. The major issue we had was the pace of play for the first 5 holes. We complained when the food cart girl came around on the 3rd hole and by the 5th the Marshall came round and they let us through on the 6th. We were a 2 and the guys in front were a 4 and they were friendly enough when they let us through. However they seemed to have no concept of their pace, didn’t ask us to play up on the clearly signed wave up par 3, and always walked over the rakes when they went into bunkers - without ever picking one up to rake where they’d been! When we played through them we soon caught up with another 4 ball - one of whom was walking. To put into context when we finished we ended up 3 holes ahead of the guys behind.

Overall we enjoyed it and with a bit more work and a Marshall circulating more it would be even greater value.

I like this course overall. Greens are good. Tee boxes could use work, particularly the 18th tee which slopes about 10 degrees right to left. (Mix in a couple railroad ties down the left side and fill to level. ) Just a suggestion).

The weirdness started when about 3 holes in, a dirtbag on a bicycle with a bag of clubs on his back jumped onto the course and started golfing right in my fairway. Then he catches the 2 young men in front of me and he is like playing along side them. I thought maybe they knew each other, until a couple holes later 1 of the guys backtracked in the cart to talk with me asking if I would join them since this dude was bothering them , and hitting into them. Apparently that interaction gave him the message and he split. Weird. Aside from the foursome I caught on the back, who had 1 player getting an on course lesson every hole from an instructor, and no attempt to wave me through, the day went OK.

The place of Play was horrible. The marshall was not very helpful in helping pace of play. I understand that you take your time when hitting the golf ball however when people are beginners the Marshall needs to let them know they need to let people behind them play through if they're busy looking for their golf ball.

Amazing course, great layout, great fairways, amazing greens, great pace of play. Nothing bad to say about this course. I will definitely play here again.

Course is in good shape. Seen lots of water. Greens holding. Bunkers decent shape. Good pace of play. Get right out mid day.

The course was green from recent rains. Greens were soft. No bounce & roll on approach shots. Bunkers in decent shape. Good value. Not crowded mid day.
