In spite of the history of the course and it’s interesting layout, I won’t drive 50 miles again to play this course because it’s not in very good condition.
It was ok
Greens are in good shape. Fairways and tee boxes need some work. A few months ago the fairways were in much better shape. On a hot day it would be nice to have the beverage cart out.

nice layout poor conditions
Can be a really nice course with its layout but would need to put a lot of time and money to make the tee boxes fairways and greens nice.

Slow bumpy greens. Most Holes rolled over and smaller than regulation. Fairways dry and patchy

My Home Track
I play Rancho at least twice per month as it is my favorite layout in the area. I enjoy the Trent Jones design and never get bored with it. There are lots of practice areas to use and for the most part the staff is always kind and helpful. I play during the week usually and can always get my round done in 4 hours or even less typically, as long as I don’t order a hot dog at the turn lol…that is one area where I’ve experienced some slower than expected delays. Greens are typically above average and nice larger sizes to hit into, fairways can be burnt out in areas. And the price seems right.

Summer Golf
Haven't played this course in many years. First thing I noticed was all the development and homes that are in the area. I always remembered the great layout of this course. It can be challenging and long depending on what tees you choose. It is more for the average to advanced golfer. I was disappointed in the condition of the course. Take in mind it is summer and temperature was in the high 90's so it is dry and hot. Not too many people were playing as we teed off in the late morning. Greens were in good condition and the best part of the course but the fairways were brown, dry, and bare in some areas. I would love to come back and play when it is cooler and green all around. It still is a nice course but $50 is a lot to pay for these conditions in my opinion. Maybe come back and play in the fall or if they discount their rates.

No much better than the General Old, more dirt than grass. Would not go back.
