Golfer Reviews
Tee to Green
Tee boxes were in great shape. Fairways were decent but rough in some places. Some of the rough was just that, rough; but some areas of rough were very playable. Sand was normal for the ones I was in but one in my group thought they were hard in some. Oddly, no rakes at any traps. 18th hole had sand just dumped in so unplayable. Greens were firm in parts but held well for the most part. They were fast but true and in great shape.
Most of the maintenance money goes toward the greens and it shows.
Most of the maintenance money goes toward the greens and it shows. The fairways are mostly survival of the fittest. The tee boxes were OK. When you were in a green side bunker, you had to fluff up the lie so you could excite A sand shot. Lots of potholes on the cart paths. I had a bad experience on the first tee today. Seems like the locals who play there a lot don’t care how the starter wants them to go off the first tee, They would pretty much run that themselves. My tee time was 12 o’clock and I was supposed to play with a twosome. They checked in just ahead of me. They joined up with a twosome that had already teed off and then another two some came up and then another two some came up who knew each rather well so they joined up and excluded me even further back in the tee times. The expression would be the inmates are running the jail. And they were pretty rude about it even though I was standing less than 10 feet away from them. They were questioning the clubs policy of singles having teetimes. I believe the expression was “it stupid” That was the Bell twosome. I have to say that the greens were great and a real challenge To judge speed and break.
Good course for price
The fairways were pretty dry and the greens were extremely fast but the course is great for the price. Pace of play was really good and it’s a nice local course to come out and get a round on.
Very slow play
No Marshall stacked tee times took 45 minutes just to get off the first tee five player groups just an awful experience will not be going back here anytime soon
WHEN I BOOKED ON LINE THE RATE WAS 24.48

fast greens...not that easy to read...hard packed gravel traps...no water hazards any more. Lots of chances to try fades and draws
Good staffs but bad course condition.
Really good staffs, but course condition is bad except green.
Greens were all in good condition, but fairways were really bad.
I don't recommend to my friends because I live in LA area so it is now worth for long trip to the course, but if you are in the area nearby. Not to bad for the price. They offers freen hotdog amd drink for all paid golfers.
An excellent value for a great time
The Shandin Hills Golf Club experience is perfectly priced, and is a great course for beginners. The forgiveness of having open fairways, short par 4’s and 5’s, and an included meal for the energy to push you through 18 holes makes the course a delight to play at.
It was windy and the course was pretty rough but for the money we spent to play it could have been worse. Fairways were pretty dry the sand traps were pretty hard and the water hazards were practically empty. The staff was grin though and because of the poor weather hardly anyone was on the course. I’ll go back but strictly because of the cheap price.
Course Needs lots of help.
Course conditions are terrible. Every fairway no grass, patchy and bare. I don't remember landing on green piece of grass on fairway or rough always bare, dry, or concrete like. Greens are not as bad, but firm, hard and little bumpy. They did have better than average sand bunkers. Whole course relatively straightforward tree lined holes with many bunkers with a few holes that have major dog legs. Staff was very friendly.
Course is a little dry, greens are in reasonable shape. Free lunch and drink was a nice touch included with the booking.
OK course. Beats working!
I recently moved back into this area and had not played Shandin Hills in about 20 years. Man it's gone downhill! The greens were great! However the fairways are really bad. #15 (a par 3) used to be my favorite hole. At around 165 yards (from the whites) it used to have a beautiful pond almost all the way to the approach to the green. Now that large pond is an ugly eyesore of a waste land with a mud puddle at the bottom. If the fairways were better, I would still enjoy the course because of the better than average layout but the fairway conditions make me say that there are much better choice than Shandin Hills for $32.
