great value ,the course was in great shape and lunch was included . What a deal!
Superb
Third time playing this course and it gets better every round. Although the pace of play was a bit slow, all the golfers I met were friendly and courteous. The fairways are in great shape, the rough well groomed, the bunkers full and soft, and the greens in excellent condition. Coupled with the daily all inclusive deal of unlimited range balls and all you can eat lunch and sodas, it makes for an unbelievably great outing for the price. I consider it the best deal going in the Inland Empire.
Superb Value
Second time playing course. First time not so great. Very slow play. Seemed like lots of inexperienced golfers on course holding up play. Did not feel it was worth the money.
This time pace was superb and the day was a great value for money. Fairways and greens in great shape. For $14 got a free bucket of balls and unlimited lunch/soda. Friendly staff and golfers. Will definitely play again.
SLOW PLAY
I'm trying to give this course some business, but mgmt is making it hard. If the course is over booked and you're waiting 5-10 minutes between EVERY shot it's difficult to find your rhythm. This leads to shots that are not characteristic to your play. I left after 5 holes frustrated with the slow play.
Please play
With Calimesa and San Bernardino Golf club both just about unplayable now everyone needs to book at Shandin Hills...the price is right (weekdays anyway) and the course is in good shape (excellent if you compare to Calimesa and SBGC) We all need to support this course in hopes it will not go away. If you have not played here in awhile you may be surprised you even get good lye's in the fairway 85% of the time...
Always great
Perfect place for the price! Always a good time! Really affordable, especially for those barely starting and not looking to break the bank.
Fun and Challenging
The new management have made some great improvements since taking over. There was a time you could lose a small child in the rough but they made major improvements by cutting it back. Two things I wish for, water in the water hazards and a Marshall to maintain the pace of play. This is still a fun place to play. One caution for those who have never played here. The 215 freeway splits the course and the back 9 is bordered by an active railroad track on the west side so if noise bothers you, you're going to have difficult time here.
Exceptional value
Have played many courses in the area and this is my favorite. From Orange County it is not as far as it seemed. Good layout; great, receptive greens; and a friendly staff. Call and ask about their unlimited golf and food special.
Long - green and fun!
Another golfer suggested I try this course and boy... I am so surprised! 1st of all, I love the length. One of the longest courses in the area, long a really far. Almost every hole is protected by bunkers, so bring your 'sand wedge'! The snack bar is good and has fair prices and friendly service. I just really like this course!!
Keep the ball in play!
After my last venture here, including two shots OB and a lost ball in the rough, I was ready for another crack at this convenient course right off I-215 and Ca-210 in San Bernardino. Weather was cloudy and cool, but no precipitation.
The course
Tee boxes - Most were uneven and heavily divoted.
Fairways were good, when you hit them. I only hit four (4) fairways, but had reasonably good lies throughout.
Rough was semi-lush in most areas. I was able to hit some great shots for the first cut. Any father out and the rough became almost unplayable with some grass 8-12 inches tall.
Traps/Bunkers - This is really hit and miss based on sand condition. Some sand had been over-watered and had the consistency of wet cement. #4 was pefect and I got a sand save out of it.
Greens - Fast and not holding was the order of the day. Some greens were receptive, but as they dried out I can only imagine how tough they would become.
Staff - The cashier/starter reminded every one teeing off in the 6:00 am hour that there was a tournament in progress and do not access the back nine untii after 7:30 am. This was good advice and I timed it to hit the tenth at about 7:45. Worked out perfectly.
Amenities - To my surprise, breakfast and lunch with unlimited fountain drinks was part of the $28 fare. I chose the turkey sandwich which resembled my grand daughters first blush at sandwich making with two pieces of bread, one slice of turkey, an over-sized leaf of lettuce and a tomato slice. Well,. it was food and since I don't normally eat before playing an early round of golf I was hungry so I indulged.
Overall, a good experience and an in-shape course with few exceptions.
I really enjoy the course lay out. The variety of hole types keeps you working on your course management.
Excellent Greens - Poor Fairways
The fairways were in poor condition but I judge a course by the greens & traps & in both Were excellent
You'll enjoy this course if you judge a course by it's layout & greens
Cars got broken into and vandalized
I have played here many times. The course itself is what it is. Nothing great but usually worth the discounted rate. This time though, finished playing and find our cars had been broken into, as well as 1 other car. 3 cars total in broad daylight. The golf shop said it has been happening more recently. If that's the case why would they not make an effort to tell customers about it, and also get some security . I think that is the final time I play there. If these brazen crimes are common , why would you risk going.
bunker shot need some tlc.
course was decent, but those bunkers need some maintenance. maybe if they brought out a tiller or something to help the cause, but the bunkers were hard like concrete.
