Good day at Shandin Hills.
Weather was rather hot 95 degrees + but the occasional breeze helped. The course was in good shape. Greens all excellent and fairways had minimal brown patches. It's tight off the tee on most holes but the landing areas are fair, The staff are quite personable. This is a very enjoyable old style layout with small greens and tall trees lining the holes. The rates are fair and you'll have as much fun here than you would paying $75.00 to $100.00 somewhere else so I highly recommend this course.
Great course for the money
I played this course 4 or 5 times during my stay in the area. It is a good layout, interesting and challenging enough for better players but a little tough for those just starting. There are a LOT of bunkers. The greens are in good condition, and fairly fast although in the late afternoon they get a little bumpy. As with most moderately priced courses the rough, tee boxes and fairways are a little scraggly, but it doesn't affect play, and most days I played in the early afternoon for under $20. I would play this course again anytime!
Great peaceful golf
The course may be bit further than average, but it's an easy drive in, which is rewarded with a great value day of golf.
Finest greens in the Inland Empire
The day was windy , but sunny and the course itself was in beautiful condition . I had a good time just looking at the landscape and the water features were absolutely stunning . You cannot beat this course for the price and it's the perfect place to work on your game and not get pushed .
Great Greens
Good overall value, greens great. Way too many squirrels, hence holes on fringes of fairway. need to upgrade restrooms. Good pace throughout round.
Shandin Hilla Golf Course
The best rate for weekend play of any inland empire course. Course is in good condition
good day
Greens are in good condition.
Does get a little windy.
Nice day of golf
Nice golf course, fairways and greens were in good shape... Just a lot of walkers... But they kept up...
4/15/14
The cost playing the course was fair. I tried to get a reservation for the same course thru another wed stir. Their cost was 15.00 per player with a small bucket and u had to play after 2 pm. I could not log into other web site so I went with golf now with a tee time of 145. Golf now was 23.00 per player and a small bucket cost 51.00. Still not a bad price but compared to the other price it was not the best deal of the day.
As far as the staff goes, they were great, polite Nd friendly and attentive. The course fairways were fair and reminded me of San Bernardino public course. The greens and tee boxes were in great shape. The front 9 was very quick with no one in front if us. The back 9 was just the opposite. There were several foursomes on the back making it very slow for my son and I All in all it was a good day of golf. And I will go back
Fun day
Played Shandin Hills for the second time. Course was in good shape, but got behind a scramble tourney so it was a little slow. Staff is great. Nice practice facility for chipping and bunker play, but have to hit off mats in the range, which is small and was full. Had to wait for a spot, and ended up only hitting a fourth of the $9 large bucket before called to tee off. Also, it was more expensive through Golf Now than if I had gone straight to their website. Overall, a good day and a nice course.
Shandin Hills - Just OK
I've seen Shandin Hills make some improvements over the past 18 months. However, one of the real appealing characteristics has changed. I appreciated the work done around the greens, but especially had seen the fairways really come to life. It appeared someone cut the grass down too tight in the fairways, and it just hadn't recovered.
Overall, a good experience. Reasonable value/fee. Good local course. Pace was fair, I've played it much slower in the past.
Shandin Hills.
Great course. One of my favorites. Great staff. Course is always in good condition. Played 18 holes in 3 1/2 hours.
great place to play
The greens are great , fair ways are good , sand bunkers are good and the tee boxes are good. Only bad thing was , it was raining golf balls.. almost got hit a few times.......its a good place to play , the range is good too. The price is not the best but 37 isn't bad. Overall good place to play.
fun course
enjoyed the round and the duo that I was paired with.
Aerated Course
When I made the tee time, I was not told the course was being aerated. Therefore the greens were extremely full of sand. I would of liked to have played on better greens.
Shandin Hills
Much improved over past 12 months. Best shape I've seen it in in the 10yrs I've played here. Challenging Greens. Good test for good value. Would be much more expensive in better community setting.
good value
I paid 29 dollars for green fee, cart, bucket of balls, and a lunch meal ticket. Great. I happened to lose my ticket and was effortlessly given another "no questions asked".
disappointing conditions
Played the course today and was really disappointed. The fairways were horrible. You could not ever tell where the rough starts and the fairway ends. There were big rocks in the bunkers and the fairway. The greens were nice green in color but rolled horrible. There were really bumpy and were cut very inconsistently. There some holes that had a lot a green slope so obviously they let the green grow a little longer that is nice to see because those greens would just about be impossible to control the speed. Then there were the greens on the back 9 which were all pretty flat and all were cut at different lengths it seemed like. This made it challenging to figure out the speed. The fairways were wide open with no real penalty for not hitting a tee shot straight and the greens have to be the smallest around. Over all it was a below avenger course design and a below average course conditions which added up for a below average experience. Not worth the 32 I payed on a week day.
This course was nice for the price.
I enjoy playing this course for the price and if you sign up for emails you can get great deals!
