Ok for discounted price on Golfnow.
Course conditions were a little rough. Dried out fairways and uneven tee boxes. Greens were great though. Not very difficult, only problem, seemed overbooked. There was a fivesome out in front of us, and a few more on the course that slowed things down. Could have used a marshal.
favorite Place
Great Place to play ,i enjoy everything about it. the challenges that it provides only makes me better.
shandin hills
The course is getting better but the fairways need to be watered more. The greens are the tee boxes in great shape. Staff is nice and carts are clean.
The fairways and greens are very green.
The greens were just a little bumpy from a previous aeration about 8 to 10 weeks ago. Other than that, the course is in excellent condition.
Good day to play
7 AM tee time. Staff was ready and friendly. The course was in nice shape. Tee boxes were level and green. Fairways are green and full, not many bare spots. Greens were receptive and had good speed. The bunkers have real sand and were in no e condition.
Bring your earplugs
The inescapable reality of this course is that the 215 freeway runs right through the middle of it. The entire front nine is east of the freeway, and five of the holes on that side are within 50 yards of the traffic headed up the hill toward Las Vegas You pass under the freeway to get to the back nine, where just two holes are directly adjacent to the traffic; however, two of the holes on the back sit next to the railroad tracks. The impact of the freeway and railroad is unfortunate - you simply cannot ignore the constant noise.
The design of the course is pretty good. There is a good mix of long and short holes, some challenging elevation changes, and water that comes into play on two holes. The number and placement of bunkers is pretty good too.
Course maintenance was better this time than I have seen here in the past, but still I noticed lots of unsanded divots, some soggy spots where drainage was poor, and greens that were bumpy and slow. The bunkers had adequate sand, but they also had lots of small rocks. On nearly every green I had to gather up small rocks that had been blasted from the bunkers onto the putting surface.
One positive thing about this course is the price. We only paid around $20 to play. I was tempted to rate the "Value for the Money" as great, but then I remembered the freeway and railroad noise and changed my mind. Even for $20 I'd expect a great value for the money course to offer some peace and quite to go along with an otherwise good golf experience.
Has a little bit of everything.
The course had a good mix of different kinds of holes, Water, doglegs left and right, elevation changes up and down, and flat, Greens were moderate speed. Greens seamed well guarded with bunkers. Sand bunkers had real sand. It was nice to hit real sand shots. Will be back to play again for sure.
Fun outing
Surprisingly, played my round in about 3:13 on a Sunday afternoon. I have walked off this course several times due to slow play on previous occasions. The greens were recently punched, so putting was particularly challenging. But, the course layout, and speed of play made the round memorable.
Played 9 holes for $15 we worth it
Great 9 hole deal for $15, the bunkers and water is placed to challenge the golfer.
Good value. No crowd.
Needed lights on first hole.
Greens not 100% back from aeration, but close.
Closest course since El Ranch Verde closed.
Very nice challenging course with beautiful views !!!
I would and have recommended this course to family member and
To my closest friends ... It a great way to fine tune your game here
With the courses challenging holes !!!
Fun course
this course is challenging for every level of golfer. The greens are coming back nicely.
Always enjoy playing this course, except when the wind is blowing:)))))
Nice course
Looking forward to going again.
Had a great time. The course was great had a all kind of holes short to long.
This is a well maintained course with a challenges
Nice course for intermediate and beginners. Challenging enough for both skill levels.
Over seeding was going on, but got a great deal.
I hadn't play Shandin Hills in 5 plus years. I got a great deal on the tee time! I arrived early, but they let me go out anyways. They was over seeding the tee boxes and fringes on every hole, so it really stunk! And the greens looked liked they had been aerated recently, so they were pretty bumpy. I had a awesome day though and scored very well anyways. Anytime I can get a $16 tee time at 11:00 am, I take some improvements in progress. I think I wait a few weeks until the over seeding is over, but I'll be going back soon.
fairways and bunkers were in good shape! the greens were real slow. Looked like they were giving the greens some sand to try and fix the problem areas
I played Shandin Hills on 10-2-13! The pace of play was great! I've always loved the Greens here but they had been doing some sanding around and on the Greens. The Fairways and sand traps were good.
staff doesn't care
Greens were being aerated and the manager admitted that he took the maintenance alert off the listing! Maintenance crew started watering the green while I was teeing off! It's typically a nice course, but I took the day off to take a friend from out of state thereand it was a huge letdown. Wish I could get a refund but the manager wouldn't budge.
Great sand in traps
This time of year greens are sanded if the staff is doing their job. And everything was in great shape because of the staff doing their job. I will play here againandagain.
The only probelm was the greens. They are usually in better condition.
The only problem was the greens. They are usually in better condition.
