New greens.

This course has always been my favorite around the Knoxville area. The greens are brand new so they are a bit sponge feeling and slow rite now but all have been replaced and are absolutely great. If you have not played this course you should definitely go.

Great Improvement!

We played Avalon over six months ago. It was in very bad shape. So bad we said we would not play there again. Recently my next door neighbor told me they completely redone the greens and improved on everything. So we gave it another try. We could not believe the vast improvement that was made. It would not surprise me if soon it will be rated as one of the top five public golf course in the Knoxville area. They have hired a top-notch Greenskeeper. You will not be disappointed!

EXTREMELY SLOW GREENS

I have played this course before, but not with the new extremely disappointed with the greens. They were fuzzy and VERY SLOW. I was very upset that had to pay regular price on Golf Now. Price should have been discounted due to the greens, which were approaching unplayable. I will not be back there any time soon, if ever. I would rather play on greens that have been punched than play on these greens.

Greens a poppin’

The biggest problem Avalon has had for the last couple of years was the greens. They were a mess. GOOD NEWS! The problem will soon be solved…We all hope. The old greens have been completely replaced and should be rounding into great shape soon. They are still very slow as the course allows them to mature before cutting to close. The course has always been a favorite of mine. Nice facilities, friendly staff, good layout and well maintained carts with GPS and automatic breaking on steep terrain. If all goes well the new greens will be the finishing touch on a fun round of golf.
