It was a great course that was awesome to play. The course had great fairways and was challenging and fun to play. Great course overall!

We played this course last fall, it was trash. Greens were beaten up and had more sand in them then the beach. They had few real temporary greens. At the end of the round we went into the shop to complain that no one told us the greens were so bad. Got charged full price and an attitude from the counter staff when we said something last year. It took us talking to multiple people to get comp round back, we would rather have received our money back but we will take an invite to play again....which was today. Over a year and the greens are terrible, absolutely wrecked, an embarrassment to anyone who’s ever tried to grow grass. Whoever is in charge of the course should change careers. They were decimated beyond belief, so so so so bad. Do not play this course, if you pay more then $10 to play you got ripped off. The members (who I would be embarrassed to even be on the course if I was a member) don’t follow the rules, cart path only for us, not for them, rank the bunker for us not for them. Just a terrible terrible place, avoid at all costs. .

Heard great things about this course from locals & recent on-line reviews looked good. The tees & fairways are in great shape. The carts were clean with working GPS. The layout is phenomenal with immense changes in elevation. The greens are abysmal! It’s unclear to me what happened to them (disease, fungus, pests, drought, neglect ???), but they are substantially without grass & most are heavily sanded. I played Willow Creek GC two days prior & it was without blemish tee to green at a lower cost. Avalon is a beautiful community with a great course (once the greens are rejuvenated). A greens warning should be listed on GolfNow.

Half the greens were so burnt up you couldn’t even putt on them.

The course is amazing. We had about a 30 minute rain delay and not long after it stopped you could barely tell it rain on the course. Would highly recommend this course.

Beautiful course in the hills of East Tennessee. Good challenging course but suitable for all levels of player.

This was first time playing course. It was challenging but able to have a good round. Beautiful area and each hole is it on and not worrying about a ball from different hole. Just a really good experience other than when I was in sand but I guess that was my fault

Overall a great course that I could play everyday. Everything is is good condition and the greens play fair. I would recommend it to anyone that wants to enjoy a day on the course.

Well maintained course,professional and friendly staff, all around a great place to play whether your a beginner or a pro. You'll enjoy.

I've never had a bad experience playing here, from the course to the staff, Avalon always exceeds my expectations.

Course was in great shape and was manicured beautifully. Great price for such an outstanding course that always has great pace of play and friendly workers. Will be coming back many times.

I have played Avalon in the past, but is has been a while.

I am extremely disappointed that I paid this much money for a course in which 3/4 of the greens are dead!

Other course conditions were very good, but they have lost their greens, which made the round almost miserable.

One member of our group was ready to leave after 3 holes. Needless to say, this took the joy out of the day.

Great layout, but greens were generally horrendous. Too wet for bent grass with temps in mid-90’s in late July. But I’ve played forever and understand this is a tough time of year, but why charge $60 for sub-par greens??

Layout is incredible, but I likely won’t be back unless the greens are renovated with an ultra-dwarf or there is a concession on the pricing. Too much for greens that are struggling.

Overall the course was ok but the greens were not in very good shape. Lots of burnt areas and some kind of bug had burrowed holes all over the greens. Very hard to putt on

Nice course layout. I was playing course for the first time and was impressed with the overall quality of tee boxes and fairways. Pace of play was great, finished in 3’30”.

Greens are burned up and in horrible condition. Very difficult to putt and several of the greens have unnatural holes that appear to be created from insects and or bees.

Avalon Country Club never disappoints! 18 holes that challenge your game with greens that are well maintained. Every staff member is very friendly and will help you with your needs. Golf carts feature GPS tracking that allows you to view the yardage to the hole, or anywhere on the hole. I have never had a problem when playing at Avalon, great course for an even better price! Highly recommended!
