Very friendly people and always helpful. The courses is in great shape . Beautiful holes with plenty of water for a challenge. Greens are rolling great and is very competitive layout. I will definitely play here again soon.

After a night of heavy rain i was concerned the course would be in rough shape, what a pleasant surprise, it drained great and was in excellent condition. I really like the new greens.

This course gave me everything I wanted for a good price. While it was wet and greens were slow, I know that when in season it plays much tougher. The sloping fairways and elevation changes provide challenges for all levels of golfers. When its in shape, the rough also provides an extra obstacle when you miss off of the tee. Staff are always very friendly and accommodating as well.

Good course and fun to play. When it's green and in shape it offers great golf with many holes offering different challenges and angles of attack. The sloped fairways and elevation changes add in some difficulty and in the summer thicker rough requires accuracy off the tee and tests your scrambling ability after errant shots. This course offers a great value to golfers of many skill levels and you can't beat their twilight rates. Even though the grille was closed this particular day I have stopped in before and would recommend just about any food on the menu, bartenders are always very welcoming as well.

Really enjoyed myself at this course, it had great greens and well manicured fairways. The golf carts has very accurate and interactive mapping and gps systems in the carts which let me not have to use my range finder at all! But again I’m just very impressed at the consistency of the greens throughout.

Very nice layout and courses is in very good shape for this time of year. Beautiful course.

First time on the course since Thanksgiving 2019...what an improvement! The greens have been refurbished since last year and are really looking good. After the bunkers were rebuilt a couple of years ago the course is really coming around. This is one of the best layouts in East Tennessee. It’s long enough and challenging enough for low handicappers, but wide enough for high handicappers to still have fun. The Avalon staff is always great too. Once the warm weather hits the fairways and really gets them growing they will be great too...last year they were outstanding.

We chose this course based on previous experiences as a nice and challenging place to play. This course was in terrible condition today and for the foreseeable future. Greens were blotchy and bouncy. Some holes had temporary holes in front of the real hole. Didn't even get to play 1 par 3 since hole was closed. None of this was information was relayed to us prior to playing or at checkin. Definitely not worth the money to play it. Maybe in a year or two when they get their act together on maintenance of a course or at least letting folks know ahead of time with a significant price break. Won't be going back for a long time.

The course was in terrible shape. The greens were awful and they have 3 temp greens that are basically 3 “greens” that were painted fairways that are impossible to putt on. Not to mention, 1 hole was closed.

I feel bad for Avalon , amazing place , extremely nice staff. The greens have had a rough summer. The were residing as I played today , so they are well aware of the degree of trouble. Three greens had temporary greens set up because the damage was so extensive, The pro shop mage me aware of the issues before I played. I hope they will recover from this

Completely gone. What little grass they still have on green is being left to grow out and is slowwwwww. Never seen anything like it.

Tried to schedule golf outing, but the pro there wanted to charge me a higher rate than an individual price per player. $55.00 per player with 20 players. Don’t worry, I won’t disrupt the members anymore.

Will never play there again.

I’ve played here several times every year for awhile,but not this year. They had four temporary greens The front nine was tolerable but the back was pretty bad. The fairways were great. It should have been posted on hot deals because I probably would not have went.

I was disappointed with Golf Now for not publicizing that the greens are in terrible shape right now. When I spoke with the course, they let me know that Golf Now was notified months ago, but still haven't posted the info. There were four temporary greens cut into the fairway as the greens on those holes were terrible. Other than the greens, we really liked the course. Beautiful layout, challenging holes, staff were extremely friendly and amenities were plentiful. Once the greens get repaired the course should get an overall rating of 4-5.

The greens were under repair. Beautiful views. Amazing layout. Friendly staff. Delicious beer. Come play me.

I played this course twice earlier in the year and it was fantastic. But the drought has taken its toll. They had three temporary greens on the back 9. And the sad thing is they were better than the six "real" greens. They have lost their greens with some disease or something. And $30 for 9 holes the with greens the equivalent of a cow pasture is ridiculous. I won't return any time soon.

One of my favorite courses in the area but sadly their greens were almost destroyed by a fungus. The amenities of the clubhouse and pro shop are top notch. Practice green is a work of recovery in progress. The driving range is ok but very average. The staff is good and helpful. The layout is fun, fair and challenging. Sand bunkers are nice with good sand.

Truly a beautiful course. Staff is friendly and very accommodating. This past summer has created havoc with many courses to maintain their greens and courses, and Avalon was no exception, but course is very playable. Will play as often as I can.

Greens have a fungus issue and are in bad shape. Rest of the course was beautiful.
