Avalon Country Club

Always love playing this course but unfortunately the greens were eat up with something ( I’m sure the heat wave and drought conditions didn’t help). The course did their best to make up for the conditions but we probably wouldn’t have played there if we had known. Still would recommend when they get the problems corrected.

I used to love to play here. Went to play a round for my birthday and the greens were pretty much unplayable. I hope they find a solution because the rest of the course is fantastic, but I won’t return until the greens are recovered. I probably should have asked for a refund. It was that bad.

The course has went downhill the greens are gone and had 4 temporary greens that were terrible. Fairway we’re great and the pace of play was excellent.

The greens are not in good shape, but the guys in the shop were very up front about it. The rest of the course is in good shape. The pro shop is very knowledgeable and always friendly. The greens look worse than they putt. Overall still a fun place with a good atmosphere!

I like this course and the staff. I think it’s a good value but the greens are suffering now from a fungus I would guess- Summer has not been kind to them. The rest of the course is in very nice shape and, perhaps, as cool wx comes back, the greens will recover

Most greens and tee boxes were hard as concrete. We were breaking tees trying to tee the ball up. The overall course conditions are very bad. If I was a club member here I would be irate at the condition of the course.

The greens were the worst I have ever seen. Most greens were less than 20% grass and the rest was crust. They should shut this course down until they get them fixed. Certainly not worth paying for.

First time playing this course and loved it. Has become one of my all time favorites. My only gripe is the guy in the pro shop obviously thought we were there to serve him instead of him serving us as customers. He acted like he was doing us a big favor by allowing us to step out on "his" course. Really rude guy, buy after we got away from him, we had a great time.

First time playing this course and it was awesome! Thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend it. Only complaint was the guy in the pro shop made us feel like he was doing us a favor to allow us to be there. TOTALLY UNFRIENDLY.

The fairways were in great shape as always the greens were a little rough due to insects. The pace of play was awful. I was a single could not let group in front of me to play through. This happens a lot to me when I play there

greens were in what I would consider fair condition not because they were aerated but had many dead spots and something has been burrowing on the greens , Also we started on 10 the clubhouse said that was procedure for the day when we made the turn to ! by the green we had caught up to a 4some that they had start ed on 1! tried to call clubhouse got a answering machine no one available to answer my call in the middle of the day left a message about issue and no one ever came out ! Used to enjoy the course conditions as well as management have soured me

Nice bunkers, nice fairways. Greens good but pins were in tough spots today. Always enjoy Avalon but be VERY careful if the ground and cart paths are wet. They have really good carts that help keep speed under control on steep slopes.

Not a bad little course. The tees and fairways are maintained reasonably well. The greens do need a little attention.

Great course and great value. Elevation changes and beautifully framed holes. Downhill tee shots and well groomed fairways adds plenty of length to drives. The greens are pure and have a nice speed try to stay below the hole or you’ll have problems stopping your putt. The course isn’t a push over but you can score well if you stay in the generous fairways. I highly recommend it as the best value I’ve found around Knoxville

Absolutely Loved this Course! The Layout was Tough but Fait if you hit it well you definitely can Score and those Bent Grass Greens were the Star of the Show! Also "The Shark Experience" an Amazing GPS, Playing Tips, Speakers, News, Etc. I only know them and a Course in Birmingham, Alabama to have this Installed on their Carts! Oh on a side Note the Most Comfortable Golf Carts Ever? Keep up the Good Work guys you HAVE DEFINITELY TURNED THIS COURSE AROUND PAT YOURSELVES ON THE BACK YOU GUYS DESERVE IT!

Course was in great shape, especially for the value! The pace of play was solid, even for a twosome. We didnt get started until about 5:15 pm and we still got done in plenty of time before dark. The greens rolled true and had good making speed. The tee boxes and fairways were in good respectable condition as well. I will definitely recommend Avalon to all my friends. I have played here before and knew i liked the course, but for $32, its basically unbeatable!
