From the practice green you can see parts of over half the holes on the front nine. Photo submitted by Back9Ben on 07/15/2017
Bristow in Excellent Condition!
Bart the GM is doing an excellent job at Bristow. The course has never looked so good. The new Golf Carts are amazing and comfortable.
Keep up the good work, Bart!
Decent course, very open
Course is very open. Because of the cold weather, very few golfers out there. Layout of the course was decent, some long par 3s. Course was in alright shape. Bunkers needed some help, but fairways and greens were cut nicely for winter conditions.
Great fairways and greens on an interesting layout
Played the black tees on a windy day; tees were up after the rain yesterday, but course wasn’t too wet. Only hit driver maybe 4 times off the tee all day. A few of the par 5s have creeks or hazards across the fairway that force you to hit less than driver off the tee. Makes for interesting holes, but only one even gave a shot getting home in two. Fairways and greens were in excellent shape, but the tee boxes could use some love. First time playing the course and will definitely be back next season!
In Great Shape!
Got a "Hot Deal" for 25 bucks. Played with a buddy. Couse not crowded at all probably because it was cool n breezy. Have played here off and on for over 10 years and this is probably as good as I've ever seen the course. Greens and fairways were pristine. Is a links style course. Not huge fan of layout, but couldn't beat the price and conditions
Good day
Course was in great shape considering the conditions of other courses in the area and the weather we have had this summer. Fairways and greens especially were in great shape. Tee boxes weren’t great but much better than many courses in the area.
A little disappointed it was cart path only today given the courses wasn’t very wet at all but didn’t
Make much of a difference as we never had a group in front or behind us.
They need to fix up the broken and cracked cart path but that is a minor nitpick.
Disappointed
Was greeted by a starter that didn’t seem to know what was going on and couldn’t find the 3 groups going off before us. Once the round started the pace of play was very slow (at one point 4 groups where on a par 4, 1 on the green, 1 in the fairway and 2 on the tee) with no Marshall to help. Stopped in to get drinks at the turn and only 1 person working in the “pub” line of like 5 people and she seemed to be taking the orders and making the food as well. The course did not have water to drink on any hole (it was about 90 degrees outside) and when it was brought to the attention of the clubhouse staff they said that someone had put water out ( we passed two coolers after the time that he said they got filled) and blew us off after we told him that.
You get what you pay for
Course still very wet, so cart path only. Greens had been punched but excessive amount of sand made putting impossible. Fairways were mostly in great shape. T box’s not so much. Carts paths, roughs, etc pretty bad
Course management should think about customer experience.
The course held a shotgun start tournament the day we played. Regular tee times following the event backed up . The Starter pushed groups off the 1st tee box as fast as possible. Our group averaged 30 mins a hole as a result.
Best fairways in the area
Bristow Manor Golf Club is a challenging 18 hole course. The fairways are pristine. The greens are in great shape. Pace of play can be slow due to a lot of people playing.
Bristol manor
Great course to play, it was too hot today it would be nice to have cold drinks.
No Water
Course was dry until the young man turned the water on 18 while we were on the green putting? Water tub on hole 3 had some, Tub on 6 had some, Tub on 12 was empty, Tub on 16 was empty. Did I mention we teed off at noon and it was 90 degrees. Not a pleasant time on the golf course. Glad when we got out of there!
Played while out visiting relatives, would not drive the distance to play again.
Very Nice
I have played this course a number of times over the years. A lot of other courses around Northern VA are in very bad shape now (example: Pleasant Valley in Chantilly, with dead tee boxes and greens full of ball marks). Not Bristow! Tees, fairways, and greens are all very nice. Bunkers have improved but still sub-par. The zoyzia fairways are great, and the greens were smooth. I'll play there again soon.
Beginner friendly track, great greens
Appropriately priced greens fees, but don’t expect at 80-100 course/experience for 60 bucks. Range is closed and course still soaked with standing water everywhere (lots of courses very wet right now but appears this place will take weeks to dry out). Fairways are thick Bermuda grass, greens are bent and in great shape. Layout a bit quirky (short par 5s where you need to hit iron off the tee, etc.) but good track for beginners. If I had to guess, the average handicap of the players I saw on a nice weekend morning across the course was probably 30.. that combined with no marshals adds up to a long round

Great! Glad you enjoyed your time with us!
