From the practice green you can see parts of over half the holes on the front nine. Photo submitted by Back9Ben on 07/15/2017
Course recovering from heavy extended rains, so understandably not at its best condition, but greens and fairways were in good shape. Challenging risk/reward layout.
Hands down the best value in NOVA!
What a spectacular experience! The course is in absolute prime condition from tee to green! The smoothess greens I’ve played all year!
We played on Father’s Day and it took us 4.5 hours. Not bad, considering the place was packed!
Very walkable, well maintained
Played on a nice (warm) Thursday afternoon, not crowded. Was paired with a copule of slower (but friendly) players, still had a 4 hour round. Course was in good shape, very walkable, mostly wide open with good sight lines.
Nice fairways and greens
Nice course. Very soggy due to recent rains. Like back nine layout more than front (a little too much back and forth on front).
Can always count on good maintenance. Love the range and practice putting/chipping green.
Great day on the Course
Was expecting rain that day buy lucked out to all 18 holes without a drop. Course was in great shape and the greens were flawless!
Great Course but rainy week made it pricey
This is a great course. We played from the gold and the rough was too long to play a distance shot using fairway woods. Fairways were great though. Rain made it impossible to cut down the roughs. Manager apologized which we appreciated. Couldn't get a beer until like hole 6 when the cart met us. Pace was good. Weather held out. If you get a chance to play Bristow Manor, do it. We will be back.
Great course for the money
This course is in fantastic shape and is challenging enough even for low handicappers. Friendly staff and good selection at the bar and grille. Affordable rates for a great golf experience. Only thing this course needs is new carts.
Always a fun challenge
Course in good shape, greens rolling well, good mix of holes and always a good place to play
Good but challenging course
Great course, it will challenge the average golfer with doglegs and long Par 3. Has some water hazards but overall it’s a fair course.
snow golf
Playing in flurries and it was very fun. The greens were very difficult due to seeding.
decent
got out in the afternoon after raining in the morning. it was cart path only as expected. the fairways have yet to come in but that is the type of grass is it. tee boxes were okay. greens were recently aerated and had sand on them but still rolled good. bunkers were in good condition. course was pretty empty and was able to go out as a single and play in under 4 hours.
Does Not Drain Well!
We had a lot of rain recently, and so the course was sloppy and was cart path only. It doesn't drain well--worse than most in the area--and the staff said it would probably stay cart path only until sometime in April. Also, the course is zoysia grass, so the fairways are very brown this time of year. With temps in the mid-40s with a chilly wind, we had the course to ourselves--so pace of play was very good. On the front 9 you have to hit your ball over the same creek what feels like at least a dozen times. I like the back 9 better.
Good round of golf
A challenging course and we'll kept, check-in staff not as friendly.
Fun Course
It is probably unfair to review a course this late in the year so I will just say the greens were still in great shape and that was a pleasant surprise. the layout is a lot of fun and keeps you interested with its diversity. Just know as I did that the zoysia fairways are dormant so the normally green fairways are not.
