Lionhead Golf and Country Club - Legends
About
The Legends Course at Lionhead Golf & Country Club has been ranked before as one of the toughest golf courses in North America and the club boasts that it is the toughest in Canada. Lionhead Golf & Country Club also offers another, less demanding 18-hole course that is equally entertaining, the Masters. Legends features numerous challenges including vast lakes, cavernous sand bunkers, and tall fescue. The layout winds through a rugged portion of the Credit River Valley with steeply rolling terrain and wooded ravines, providing the golf course with elevated, undulating greens. The eighth is a notable hole, both for its beautiful scenery and its difficulty level. It is a long par 3 over a pond filled with tall bulrushes.

Top Notch Public Course
One of the better designed public courses in the GTA
Legends
This is the course to play in brampton. Excellent value from golf now. Course was in great shape for the time of year. Pace was perfect as was the weather. My only issue was the abundance of leaves on the greens, but what can I expect being fall? Otherwise, a great day at lionhead!
so far the best course i had play in ontario
Nice course, I think if a play it a second time I could scored a little better, faster greens then Im used to
Keep it on the fairway
Without a doubt, this is probably the toughest course I have ever played, yet there were also moments of satisfaction, mostly on the par 3 holes.
The long drives however weren't the biggest challenge, nor were the hazards. I found that the putting green and approaches to be my biggest challenge by far. I can hardly wait to play next year or perhaps before the end of the season, if I can only keep the ball out of the leaves. At this time of year, they hide the ball in every shallow.
fall at legends
A challenging track that has some drainage issues.
Standing water in sand traps and poor sand management in the rest of the traps make for unnecessary challenges in a tough course.
Greens were tough but fair. No one seems too repair their ball marks on the greens! I am sure it makes the greens crew frustrated.
Kaneff poor poor poor shame on u
Long time customer of Kaneff and golfnow rained out after 6 holes told we could have rain check but only before 8 or after 3 as we were second class customers having booked thru golfnow Kaneff pro was totally unhelpful and blamed golfnow very unimpressed with Kaneff and golfnow maybe better to deal with other companies sorry to say very poor treatment for very loyal clients
A great course
Extremely challenging course in in great shape considering they are starting the fall maintenance. Greens and fairways being punched but workers did not interfere with play. Greens that had been punched were sanded and rolled and a bit slow but very playable.
Worth it at the Hot Deal price
Not what it use to be, but still nice to play it at the Hot Deal price. The greens were below average, and the garbage looked like it wasn't picked up in a week.
its a lion of a course
they dont call it canada's hardest course for nothing. definitely very challenging
Driver and putter must both be working
Toughest course I have played in a long time. All aspects of your golf game are tested on every hole. Shot a 95 from the blue tees which are 6600 yards. I was ok with that. Could have been better but my game is not working on all cylinders.
Good experience on the legends
Pros - Better than expected - Course is difficult and in great shape. Very efficient and friendly staff.
Cons - When you pay $100 plus please don't charge for range balls.
Pace of play was too slow - took about 5 1/2 hours aside from that it was very good.
A great course for a scratch golfer!
I would recommend the course to only single digit handicap golfers. You'll need to have lots of different shots in your bag to score well. I had a great time and shot 79 from the gold tees.
underwhelmd
Nice layout. Nice greens. Poor drainage and being forced to the cart paths ruined the day. If this is a course policy put one on each side of the fairway, or let us walk it.
Where the Legends Play
Very beautiful course, the food cart needs to be more equipped to carry different foods not just candy bars & chips.
Too SLOW!!!!
Very slow round and no golf Marshall's around to speed things up
Staff was somewhat rude in the Clubhouse when I checked in after I told them I booked through Golfnow and gave them my confirmation number
Nice course but truly not sur if I will golf there again!!!!
Some nice holes
Highly recommend!
We play this course twice a month..
Still Fantastic
I hadn't played this course in 15 years and was
looking forward to see how I matched up to this gem.
The course is still great but the greens seem to
have been damaged by the tough winter. For me
it is still the number 1 golf course in terms of
toughness. Missing the fairways will cost you.
The course design makes it important for the golfer to strategize there way around the trouble.
Your club without fees
I played the Legends and it was worth it. Lionhead is the same as an exclusive club but without the membership fees.
High end course turned muni
Starter girl a little clueless. Just starting to warn up putting and told us you better head over now to first tee. Well one group had just teed off , and there was a group waiting to tee off. It was 20 more minutes before we teed off. Could have enjoyed another 15 minutes of putting/ chipping time to be good and ready . ( and sure oooenough just as we were on the tee box , the loud beer / cart boys rumble down right up to us. There is a direct sight line from the starters podium to he first hole which is. 100 yards away. So the Lion needs to tweak a few simple things to make it Roar!!
Excellent and quite challenging course
The Legends course was fantastic. Definitely would play again and recommend to friends. It's a world class facility and everything and everyone is in order! Enjoyed it, thanks.
