Lionhead Golf and Country Club - Legends
About
The Legends Course at Lionhead Golf & Country Club has been ranked before as one of the toughest golf courses in North America and the club boasts that it is the toughest in Canada. Lionhead Golf & Country Club also offers another, less demanding 18-hole course that is equally entertaining, the Masters. Legends features numerous challenges including vast lakes, cavernous sand bunkers, and tall fescue. The layout winds through a rugged portion of the Credit River Valley with steeply rolling terrain and wooded ravines, providing the golf course with elevated, undulating greens. The eighth is a notable hole, both for its beautiful scenery and its difficulty level. It is a long par 3 over a pond filled with tall bulrushes.

its a lion of a course
they dont call it canada's hardest course for nothing. definitely very challenging
Driver and putter must both be working
Toughest course I have played in a long time. All aspects of your golf game are tested on every hole. Shot a 95 from the blue tees which are 6600 yards. I was ok with that. Could have been better but my game is not working on all cylinders.
Good experience on the legends
Pros - Better than expected - Course is difficult and in great shape. Very efficient and friendly staff.
Cons - When you pay $100 plus please don't charge for range balls.
Pace of play was too slow - took about 5 1/2 hours aside from that it was very good.
A great course for a scratch golfer!
I would recommend the course to only single digit handicap golfers. You'll need to have lots of different shots in your bag to score well. I had a great time and shot 79 from the gold tees.
underwhelmd
Nice layout. Nice greens. Poor drainage and being forced to the cart paths ruined the day. If this is a course policy put one on each side of the fairway, or let us walk it.
Where the Legends Play
Very beautiful course, the food cart needs to be more equipped to carry different foods not just candy bars & chips.
Too SLOW!!!!
Very slow round and no golf Marshall's around to speed things up
Staff was somewhat rude in the Clubhouse when I checked in after I told them I booked through Golfnow and gave them my confirmation number
Nice course but truly not sur if I will golf there again!!!!
Some nice holes
Highly recommend!
We play this course twice a month..
Still Fantastic
I hadn't played this course in 15 years and was
looking forward to see how I matched up to this gem.
The course is still great but the greens seem to
have been damaged by the tough winter. For me
it is still the number 1 golf course in terms of
toughness. Missing the fairways will cost you.
The course design makes it important for the golfer to strategize there way around the trouble.
Your club without fees
I played the Legends and it was worth it. Lionhead is the same as an exclusive club but without the membership fees.
High end course turned muni
Starter girl a little clueless. Just starting to warn up putting and told us you better head over now to first tee. Well one group had just teed off , and there was a group waiting to tee off. It was 20 more minutes before we teed off. Could have enjoyed another 15 minutes of putting/ chipping time to be good and ready . ( and sure oooenough just as we were on the tee box , the loud beer / cart boys rumble down right up to us. There is a direct sight line from the starters podium to he first hole which is. 100 yards away. So the Lion needs to tweak a few simple things to make it Roar!!
Excellent and quite challenging course
The Legends course was fantastic. Definitely would play again and recommend to friends. It's a world class facility and everything and everyone is in order! Enjoyed it, thanks.
Legends is challenging... you must try it
The facilities, staff members and the course is better than average
For the price, they should supply a Gps
Need more marshes
We had a group behind us that kept hitting the ball before we were in the clear they must have done it 5 to 6 times. It got to a point were we almost got into a fight with these guys and there was no Marshes in sight very disappoint in Loin Head they need Marshes to go around to make sure that this never happens.
Disappointing service...
Two things wrong with this facility and neither of them have anything to do with the quality of the course.
1. Staff is so aloof and unfriendly that just ruins a good golf experience. It shouldn't be difficult to say hi, thank you and enjoy your round. Your get friendlier service at McDonald.
2. There's a beautiful patio with great chairs but you can't actually order anything. What's the point?
Very disappointing...
Hardest course I've played
Great course amazing challenge have to hit your spots or you can be in trouble can't wait to play it again
Legends Course
$9.00 for a bucket of practice balls on top of the course fee? Otherwise a good day on a good course.
Customer Appreciation Day
I came out for customer appreciation day because it offered a decent price and a few extras. It was a good day and I was matched up with 2 others who were very nice. In order for this course to improve on this event in the future, I offer these tips. Don't have staff out cutting the grass on nearly every hole we played. When you offer lunch as part of the package, include a beverage with the burger. I was surprised that it wasn't included. This is known to be a good course, so if you want to continue to be known this way, upgrade the carts to include GPS.
