Lionhead Golf and Country Club - Legends
About
The Legends Course at Lionhead Golf & Country Club has been ranked before as one of the toughest golf courses in North America and the club boasts that it is the toughest in Canada. Lionhead Golf & Country Club also offers another, less demanding 18-hole course that is equally entertaining, the Masters. Legends features numerous challenges including vast lakes, cavernous sand bunkers, and tall fescue. The layout winds through a rugged portion of the Credit River Valley with steeply rolling terrain and wooded ravines, providing the golf course with elevated, undulating greens. The eighth is a notable hole, both for its beautiful scenery and its difficulty level. It is a long par 3 over a pond filled with tall bulrushes.

Legends is challenging... you must try it
The facilities, staff members and the course is better than average
For the price, they should supply a Gps
Need more marshes
We had a group behind us that kept hitting the ball before we were in the clear they must have done it 5 to 6 times. It got to a point were we almost got into a fight with these guys and there was no Marshes in sight very disappoint in Loin Head they need Marshes to go around to make sure that this never happens.
Disappointing service...
Two things wrong with this facility and neither of them have anything to do with the quality of the course.
1. Staff is so aloof and unfriendly that just ruins a good golf experience. It shouldn't be difficult to say hi, thank you and enjoy your round. Your get friendlier service at McDonald.
2. There's a beautiful patio with great chairs but you can't actually order anything. What's the point?
Very disappointing...
Hardest course I've played
Great course amazing challenge have to hit your spots or you can be in trouble can't wait to play it again
Legends Course
$9.00 for a bucket of practice balls on top of the course fee? Otherwise a good day on a good course.
Customer Appreciation Day
I came out for customer appreciation day because it offered a decent price and a few extras. It was a good day and I was matched up with 2 others who were very nice. In order for this course to improve on this event in the future, I offer these tips. Don't have staff out cutting the grass on nearly every hole we played. When you offer lunch as part of the package, include a beverage with the burger. I was surprised that it wasn't included. This is known to be a good course, so if you want to continue to be known this way, upgrade the carts to include GPS.
Expect a challenge
One of my favourite courses in the GTA in terms of conditions and course architecture; Lionhead once again challenged our group to drive-straight and give an extra look before putting. One thing to keep in mind is that this track lives up to its reputation of being exceptionally tough, however it executes this in a fair manner.
Course conditions were stellar as always, and the staff were friendly and accommodating.
I highly recommend Lionhead for someone looking to challenge themselves with fast greens and demanding course-management.
This course has good management.
Good management, beautiful view. greens aren't easy,challenging.....
Great challenging course...
Great course conditions, but a bit slow paced. Made worse by a halfway house that is out of the way. Need to fix the patio service soon.
A beautiful, scenic course just outside of Mississauga,
This course was more scenic than the Masters course. The elevation changes from tee to green made it fun and interesting. It demanded accuracy or else it resulted in a few lost balls for me. It was my first time and I am willing to try it again but after I have worked on my accuracy.
Challenging layout- fun
Finally played this track via GolfNow discount. Very interesting lay out - looking forward to playing it a second time, now that I know the course. Various blind tee shots, with rough beginning sooner than you think. Green were in great shape although rolling a little slow in the early am. Not sure this corse is worth the regular 200 green fee however watch for deals. Great to try out.
disappointed
I tell you what, my friends and I came away from the Legends course feeling much less than satisfied with our round. The facilities at Lionhead are good, and the staff were all friendly and professional. However, the course itself was a huge letdown. This was my third trip to Lionhead, and my second time playing the Legends course. The two previous experiences were all in all enjoyable. This most recent trip proved to be quite to the contrary of the first two. The two biggest issues we had with the course was the length of the rough, and the shape of the greens. Now I know this is a public track that sees a ton of traffic, and the greens are going to suffer. That said, there was clearly no effort put forth by the turf department to prepare the course for golfers who are paying big bucks to play. Definitely the most puzzling memory I took away from this round came from the 16th hole, where the plug from the previous days' hole was left sticking up a half inch above the level of the green. The bottom line is that this course does not provide near enough value for the steep price tag.
Challenging round at Lionhead Legends
55% off via GolfNow made the round reasonably priced. The slope of the fairways and undulations of the greens require well placed shots to have a chance at scoring well.
The recent deluge of rain resulted in some areas of the course being very spongy and limited the rolling off of some tee shots.
We asked about playing another 9 but were informed it would be $69 pp w/cart. As a result, we chose not dine there (went to Union Social instead - good food) nor play another 9.
Not worth what the posted rates are but using GolfNow made it a fair value..
