Roy Kizer Golf Course
About
This is a 36-hole city-owned operation that features one of Austin's best muni tracks, the Roy Kizer Golf Course, which complements the 1970s Jimmy Clay layout.
Austin's old water treatment facility was transformed by Randy Russell, who had more than 80 acres of lakes and marshland at his disposal when he laid out the 200-acre site. Russell's links-style design is flat, burdened by the wind, and loaded with bunkers. The toughest par is No. 11, which rolls 468 yards into the wind and is shamefully listed as a par 4. Take your bogey on No. 11.

This is Andy. He's in sales and is somehow always 'working' when we're playing golf. He can almost never be tagged on a Facebook golf course check-in during a weekday. He's 'working.' So here's proof that he was out with us playing golf yet again. :) Photo submitted by GordonATX on 09/08/2018

City Links
Great Links course, played under 4 hrs on a Saturday
Thanksgiving week
Son and I played this amazing little treasure in south Austin. I had played this course about 7 years ago and it intrigued me then. Course layout is great, the greens were a little slow due to overseeding but were overlooked. Great course, great staff and will return very soon.
Water everywhere
Great course for the money. The layout was pretty open except for water that comes into play in a handful of holes. The course conditions weren't that great. It would be a great course if they stepped that up.
Great shape. Always a challenging course
Course and greens are in great shape. Greens are a little bit shaggy, but very full and roll well. You just need to hit the ball harder than on other courses. But those other courses charge you 2 to 3 times more to play.
Shaggy Greens
Looks like they I’ve seeded with rye recently and as a result the greens were really hairy, bumpy and slow. The fairways were in great shape and rat if course solid. When they get the new grass on greens pressed down it will be back to fun.
Not bad.
It's a great course. Little slow after the turn the other day but that's my only complaint. It won't keep me from going back. The connected course Jimmy clay, is also a great course. Just depends on how you would like to lose your balls. In the woods? Or in the water?
Happy hitting!
Breathtaking Setting Always a Treat
Greens were slow as we head into Autumn, so be aware of your putting. Fairways and greens in immaculate shape. Marshall helped keep pace-of-play. It is always such a treat to play Roy Kizer-- loads of water, loads of well kept fairways, great greens. Just a breathtaking setting, most beautiful course in Travis County.
Great day for golf
Had a great day on the course Friday. Even got to see a golf cart in the water, which was random but funny. Every one was safe so all was well. I felt great played great, I would like to thank all the workers involved in the care they put in to keep jimmy clay and Roy Kizer golf course beautiful as always.
Course was in good shape. Greens in good shape but slower than normal.
Pace of Play
Biblically horrifily slow. There was a threesome of some guys deep in the cups in front of us....no sin there. However...they refused to let us play through...We addressesd the issue with the pro shop and they countered that whilst they' slow they were on pace ( 3 holes of nobody in front of them ) so we had to suck it up .
golf course
Greens were sanded so could not rate greens condition. Course layout is good and friendly staff.
Great Time on the course
The course was difficult to find but I had never been there before so that is not a problem. The course layout was difficult for me since this was my first time. I thought the course was in could shape and I enjoyed the round and would play it again.
