Sad
Greens, fairways are good. Traps are bad. Since the course is sold 0 money spent on that, yet course is premium price.
Traps need sand!
The course was in great shape as always, however with the pending closure, the traps have been left for dead. Minimal to no sand makes it terribly difficult to make a shot.
Sunday round
The course was fun and in great shape. The only problem was all the construction in the area made getting there a headache.
Best Course in the Region
Course conditions were great as usual. So sad to see this course go. Get out and play it now while you still can. This is the last year.
Amazing condition, hard challenge.
Would have liked to get a bit more experience before playing the course, tight fairways and the most bunkers I’ve ever seen on a course. I decided to play because I’ve heard the course is closing, this was definitely a round I was looking forward to for a while. Just a reminder to keep grinding and always improve my game, thank you grand Niagara for an excellent challenge
Course okay
We have played many times.
Course is a nice challenging course.
However would have liked notice on cart path only.
Makes for a tough round.
Great but flawed
I'm glad I played this course before it closes because many of the holes are beautiful and the course is kept in excellent condition. Despite a few days of torrential rain, the tees, fairways, and greens were perfect. Fairways are wide but there are lots of fairway bunkers and the greens are elevated and well-guarded by huge bunkers.
Having said this, the course seems to have been squeezed into a plot of land that resulted in a ridiculous layout requiring incredibly long stretches between some holes. For example, I wouldn't be surprised if the distance between 9 and 10 is more than 1/4 of a mile. Though the signage is pretty good, it's hard to find some of the holes. I would not walk this course. The course is great, but the layout gets tiring and detracts from the enjoyment... especially because my cart was dying and could barely make it up the hills.
Great course, great staff, quirky layout (especially for walkers), and overpriced by about $20-30. It's a beautiful course, but not $110 beautiful.
Still great. Play it while you can
As always, Grand Niagara delivers on a great golf experience. It was holding some water based on the rain of the last few days, but fairways were lush and greens were receptive, rolled true and fast. Only concern would be the bunkers as they are pretty hard...not really topped off.
Pace of play was just over 4hrs on one of the hottest days of the year.
Great course and one of the gems of Niagara area golf. Just a shame that it will be shuttered in September of this year for the new hospital build out.
Play it while you can, you won't be disappointed.
